Ed has over 13 years of venture experience helping early stage software, Internet, and digital media companies build management teams, develop product and marketing strategy, and create and manage strategic relationships. Ed has led first round investments and been a board member/observer in a number of leading companies such as 24/7 Media, GoToMyPC (sold to Citrix), LivePerson, Answers Corporation (Nasdaq: ANSW), Flashbase (acquired by Doubleclick), Moreover Technologies (sold to Verisign), and Greenplum (open source based data warehousing). Ed currently serves as a director or board observer for Deepnines Technologies, Greenplum, netForensics, and Answers Corporation (Nasdaq: ANSW). Mr. Sim is a founding member and Managing Director of Dawntreader Ventures which was established in 1998. With $250mm under management, Dawntreader Ventures is an early stage venture capital firm based in New York. Ed's private equity career began in 1996 with Prospect Street Ventures, a New York-based venture capital firm, where he worked on software and technology investments. Prior to joining Prospect Street, Ed worked with J.P. Morgan's Structured Derivatives Group on the development of a real-time trading application for global asset allocation. Ed graduated from Harvard College with a degree in economics and holds the CFA designation. He was also a 4 year letterwinner on the varsity lacrosse team which went to the NCAA Div I Quarterfinals. His interests include playing/coaching lacrosse, hockey, and his family.
