The article is not meant nor is it written to advocate any candidate. The drop in unemployment is below 8% as reported and I will not speak to whether or not manipulation was exercised as it serves no value. The purpose of this article is to inform of what the data may provide and the impact it will have on risk assets nothing else.

While this is an issue we are monitoring, the numbers released by the BLS do not point out that this is the case just yet, but it could be in the future. Seasonal hires are often part-time, but the latest numbers showed a drop in part-time participants, with more full-time contributing to the numbers. I believe that business are waiting the outcome of the political situation (i.e. presidential election) before really kicking into gear and amending their workforce. Your premise may be more formidable after the election when business know if Obamacare is here to stay or not. Nonetheless, definitely something to monitor.

Great point dreadlordnaf. Simple supply and demand does have an effect, especially now when business are continuing to cut costs, which also means seeking cheaper labor. The atmosphere we are in allows for quality personnel at a cheaper price due to the larger-than-ordinary pool of qualified workers. Unfortunately, like my collegue Seth mentioned below, YoY numbers still point out a slow recovery in the labor market.
