I am a private investor based out of Toronto, Canada and I have been investing since 2003. After 8 years in Corporate Finance with a Canadian Telecom company I have decided to dedicate myself full-time to the capital markets. I write on Seeking Alpha to demonstrate my financial analysis and writing skills across a variety of industries and to take advantage of any story-based trading opportunity that may arise. My passion and greatest depth of knowledge is on Canadian small cap stocks and I consider my blog posts to be some of my best work. I am interested in any freelance opportunities that may arise outside of Seeking Alpha on Canadian or American listed stocks.

Started investing in 2007 by means of mutual funds. It was 2014 when I finally arrived to the conclusion that there must be a better way of investing than using mutual funds, so I started buying individual stocks. It did not help at all that oil crashed almost immediately after I restructured my portfolio. I am still recuperating since then, and try to stay optimistic. In the meantime I learned a lot about the stock market and investing (mainly due to SA), and hope for my portfolio to show some good gains sometime down the road.
"Not many can always have adequate reasons for buying and selling stocks daily - or sufficient knowledge to make his play an intelligent play."
A French writer, Gustav Flaubert, once said, "The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe". By putting my thoughts into words, I am forcing myself to be intellectually honest with myself. In the process I get a better understanding of the business and, equally important, I get a better understanding of my subconscious biases driving my decision making.
My articles will only be long-recommendations.

I invest (technically) part-time, but I love the markets and immerse myself in them daily. I enjoy writing about my investment ideas as it helps me to organize my thoughts and I am happy to share if it helps others. I invite criticism as it will help sharpen my ideas, so please tell me where, in your opinion, I am going wrong.
