I hold multiple undergraduate degrees with concentrated focus in the fields of Psychology, Sociology, History, and Economics. Prior to working as an independent strategist for a handful of clients, I was employed as a behavioral economist for a private London based group. Before that, I worked for domestic entities such as FBR and ACC Capital.
In terms of equities analysis, my focus is strictly on long term investments, emerging biotechnology entities, distressed or undervalued companies, and maritime commerce. In terms of market analysis, my focus is on the market implications of social and non-traditional factors. I do not discredit more traditional technical and fundamental analysis, but I value greatly the largely underrated, and often forgotten, historical evolution of capitalism and capital market psychology. Thus, some articles I write will be highly speculative and unorthodox, and will likely represent a minority opinion. Others, when undervaluation is a motivating factor for the article having been written, will be highly technical and metric based.
Also, I urge readers to consider the premise of investment horizon, and authorship intention, when reading my contributions. Many of the articles for companies which I endorse will be deemed "long term", which I generally consider to be no less than 2-3 years unless otherwise noted. Moreover, some articles are written simply to test a potential investment thesis in an effort to garner feedback about prospective positions. In the latter, the "Risk" segment of articles will be thoroughly detailed and should be heavily weighed. Many such pieces will be long "ideas", not necessarily long "recommendations" or "endorsements", and it is imperative that readers understand that prior to any assumptions being made or conclusions being drawn. Thus, I would implore readers to consider my articles carefully and thoroughly, and to ask any questions they may have pertaining to publication purpose if not otherwise clearly defined. Lastly, I am a fervent proponent of the value brought to investments by behavioral finance theory, and I utilize this premise in all equities analysis.

The Clinically Sound Investor is a pharmacist with a PharmD and a BA in psychology. He has worked across the spectrum from very small independent and hospital pharmacies to the some of the largest retail corporations and medical centers in the nation, as well as experience in specialty and mail order settings. Fascinated by watching the rise of Walmart and Apple after 2008, he now follows the advice "know thyself" and puts expertise of understaning scientific literature to research biotechnology stocks. His investments early on were driven by binary events such as FDA Advisory Committee meetings and PDUFA dates (approvals). Despite initial successes, there were too few of these events, so he expanded into predicting Phase II/III trial results. His writings should not be considered financial advice or the basis for investment decisions. While his interpretations of clinical trial results--which may be overlooked or even thoroughly misunderstood by Wall Street--could be helpful, they're only as good as the original reports they come from. Although written by scientists and doctors, there will always be a slant from the sponsoring company, or worse (like, say, missing data...).

As a Solutions Architect, Dr. Ahanotu served as the lead Solutions Consultant on client engagements and provided technical assistance and guidance to Solutions Consultants on other projects. Dr. Ahanotu designed and implemented price optimization solutions, demonstrating expertise in mathematical modeling, pricing, data analysis, SQL, and relational data models. Prior to Rapt, Dr. Ahanotu was a consultant with Integral, Inc, a small strategic management consulting firm. During his three-year tenure, he consulted on product development and technology strategy focused on high tech and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to Integral, he developed mathematical programming algorithms for managing and optimizing “Y2K” projects as an independent contractor. Prior to this work, he implemented expert systems for diagnosing and troubleshooting automotive and semiconductor manufacturing equipment as a Business Solutions Project Manager and Consultant for Expert Edge, Inc.

I retired as CEO of an Automotive Parts supplier, and manage an investment portfolio for myself and family. I have a BA in History from Royal Military College of Canada and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. My first career was as a fighter pilot in the RCAF, and, following my MBA I joined McKinsey & Company, Inc. leaving them for Canadian GE. I left CGE as a Vice President in 1984 and founded The Enfield Corporation Limited ("Enfield") which grew from 243 employees in 1984 to over 10,000 in 1989 when Enfield was taken over and I was replaced as CEO. In 1989, I acquired control of Algonquin Mercantile Corporation, renamed Automodular Corporation in the late 1990's when I turned it to focus exclusively on automotive parts sub-assembly. Along the way, Algonquin turned a few ageing drug stores into Pharmx Rexall Drug Stores Ltd., sold to Katz group in 1997 and today a major Canadian drug store chain. I have been a private investor since 1971 both directly and through a private company controlled by myself and members of my family.

Spent my entire 28 year career on Wall Street with over a decade at Bear Stearns. No "Wall Street Titan" in real life but WST is an alias that I've used for years on Yahoo so I use it when I write on SA. I have gained a significant amount of knowledge regarding the stem cell sector over the years and have recently launched a premium service covering this exciting area.
I'm an asset manager at Hebba Alternative Investments with a focus on real assets. In my articles I like to focus on events that affect the macro environment for assets (especially gold and silver), and also introduce readers to different metrics that I believe are under-utilized when assessing investments.
On a more personal note, I'm a firm believer that there can be honesty, morality, and integrity in finance (though its rare) and i'd like to believe that I stick to those principles. Thus I never "pump and dump" stocks, I always list the securities we own, and I take it very seriously when I recommend a company - I do not want to see any investors/readers lose money because of my recommendations.
I'm not always right with recommendations, but investors and readers can know that I always tell the truth (there is no deception) and I eat my own cooking as recommendations are either always owned OR the reason I dont own them is given (usually related to restrictions on stocks I can buy).
Advising people in financial matters is a serious issue and integrity is much more important than money to me, but I do believe both can co-exist. You live with money, but after your death you only have your morality and integrity and thus i've made my choice between the two. A bit philosophical for a bio, but I dont think there's a better way to give investors my background than that.
