  • Marijuana May Be The Next Big Growth Sector In The U.S. Stock Market [View article]
If anyone has tried growing Marijuana or even Tomatoes for that matter, it's not as easy as it looks. Also growing is one thing getting a plant to flower or produce buds in this case is quite another. Getting high quality or high quantity is yet another. It takes time and money investment, plus the amount you can grow yourself without industrial equipment is not going to be much. By this reasoning, farmers and food production business shouldn't exist because it's viable for anyone to easily and cheaply plant their own vegetable garden and have some hogs around the house in case they need bacon. Yes of course a few hardcore hobbyists will grow it successfully, just like the craft brewing industry has sparked a home brew revolution, but beer is still 100 B/year industry, and the homebrewing revolution has given rise to new startups similar to Sam Adams like Sierra Nevada, Dogfish, etc. http://bit.ly/R1WXFf

Yes absolutely. You shouldn't need to take a course to use software it should assist you, like HAL and it should run in the background. This was the direction computing was going before the PC, which is connected to the success of Microsoft. They should serve us and our needs, not the other way around. But it creates employment!

  • While The World Watches Fiscal Cliff, Shinzo Abe Creates Fiscal Disaster In Japan [View article]
Driving down the Yen not necessarily bad. This situation is just a bit of a wildcard, which is disruptive for Japanese stocks as well as other markets connected to Japan in any way.

If you look at any USD/JPY chart this spike up is a bit extreme compared to previous reversals, because it's based on the perception of a new political policy.

Japan, Inc. was built on a platform of a weakening currency so nothing new there. But what will happen (yes they will have the few months of advantage) then the Fed will retaliate with more USD printing, thus exacerbating the race to the bottom (there is really no bottom!) The big surprise for us and many traders was how the SNB stepped in, the CHF was one of the only currencies up until that point not participating in the competitive devaluation.

Yes, this is what I was thinking about Medbox also - so where do we invest? My point with the article which I believe, there is long term growth potential here but we need to keep perspective in order to know which ones will be the winners and which ones will be the losers.

  • Medical Marijuana: It's Just A Pump And Dump [View article]
Any startup or micro-cap can be categorized as 'pump and dump' because they fit into the same category, but certainly not every small company or startup is a scam. The question here is MJNA a legitimate startup working out a few bugs or is it the intention of the founders to fleece a bunch of naive investors into buying the stock? When we wrote our 'go long' article:

    http://seekingalpha.co...

The argument was not even about MJNA in particular, but about the potential growth of any Marijuana related company due to the growing number of states legalizing. We wrote other articles about other pot companies as well.

    http://seekingalpha.co...

If the negative article proves to be true, we should be concerned about how this really did get past the SEC.

No. But look what happen to Medbox. In other words, sales may not be able to support market cap, but that doesn't mean it's not going higher. Since we've published this it's up to .27 ticking now, it's a pretty big move, not sure how much more room to go up in the short term there is.

Windows 7 was good for Microsoft, Win 8 looks like a dud. Organic food and profit probably would be good for them as well. Good point!

Seeking Alpha is a forum about stocks. MSFT stock has changed by 1 dollar in 12 years. Of course the technology and world has changed. All the negative reviews are referenced they are not our opinion. It's very objective as you see articles are all referenced, if you click on them it leads you to the source. But an article is supposed to have a point, the point here is, Windows 8 is not the next Win 95 or Win 7. Pretty simple.

Yes we are a certified Microsoft developer, partner, and reseller, and were given the Windows 8 beta and pre-release. Huge MSFT fans here, but we were very disappointed with it. For the purposes of objectivity we referenced other reviews rather than our own personal opinion. Windows 7 by the way didn't have such a flurry of negative reviews upon it's release, although when it was released we were still a little hungover from Vista.
