  • Gold, Euro Problems And Currency Politics [View article]
Yes, state control... listen to the Huxley speech I linked. Thanks goldlust, RHD and Bud. You should read, many people should read my previous piece on Cyprus which laid out the context in more detail. The spending habits of the masters shows that we are deeply into imperial governance: not good. Those who are new to my writing should glance at the essays of the last few weeks: much context and good english explication.

right, right and right: the ECB ultimatum and the reverberations of it have undermined much of the confidence games that QE had done in lifting markets.

yes, the situation makes TRQ a trading vehicle: in at deep lows and out when the next short-lived high occurs.

thanks; indeed, the situation and dynamics are quite sad. Follow the last link to Huxley's late speech ("the Ultimate Revolution") and listen: it's the blueprint for the past 50 years as is the great, little known 'other' novel Anthony Burgess wrote in 1962.
I believe you will enjoy the archive of my pieces.

The miners are extremely undervalued; the most unloved sector. They are valued as if there is nothing in the mines.
Cyrpus will be bullish both for $ (short term) and for gold & Ag.

Ah, John, you're a good reader: yes, there are three or more articles here. I always try to show the forest, explain its genesis and then examine specific trees for clues about where in the woods we are situated, where the wellsprings and also the wolf lairs are.
Since you appreciate the approach, do look through my archives. I bel ieve you will find in effect a library that puts economies and finance in the context of culture as it has been developing through history.
Have learned through much experience that in order to keep on keeping on one may indicate and present the picture but have care about the bullseye. I have written volumes but if you glance through the archives I believe you will see the nexus and method. In the text above there are quotes relating to part of the subtitle.
    Thanks for your appreciative note.

it's difficult not to see it as a series of games & interventions, the latter being the key term/method of governance in our days.

thanks very much; you describe it very well. Agree that cyprus precedent will not easily disapper though it wd be nice if such never recurred.
I hope it's the context and relevant history are not too alien to most but

thanks, Mark. Regarding use of the media, Shelley (& others) comment on it in his letters almost 200yrs ago. Spengler understood it well and has several insightful pages on it, noting it became a major aspect of cultural - diplomatic - military affairs in 1790s, the "revolutionary decade." Very much worth reading.
As for equities, it's difficult not to see major shocks coming this year.
Hope that's not the case, but...
