    No it doesn't mean you need to trade within the same day it means the ratios are reset daily.

    If on Monday UVXY was at 6.00 and futures curve move 5% in your favor UVXY should in theory gain ~10% or .60 cents.
    Thus Tuesday UVXY opening price would be 6.60 and if the futures curve went against you 5% then the price would lose ~10% of the 6.60 and would lose ~.66 value and the opening price of UVXY in this scenario would be 5.94 on Wednesday even though the futures had not moved between Monday and Wednesday.

    UVXY is great for when you expect large sharp moves lower in the market. It is terrible in flat or up markets as the futures curve and daily compounding will lose you money holding these long. They are short term trading tools and nothing more in my opinion and can make you a lot of money under the right circumstances.
