I couldn't even find shares of TVIX to short. Wow large holder just dumped 10K+ blocks all day after 2:30. Margin calls tomorrow anyone?

    • drrobcornell: After a 30% pounding today, if you held TVIX hoping things would reverse, would you get out now or wait and see?

    • Julius Ferraro: sell half. its NAV is still 8
      3/22/12
    • Uncle Floyd: Wait for what? It's still $2+ over it's true value.
      3/22/12
    • Julius Ferraro: yes its currently at 7.79

    • drrobcornell: Waiting for the damn thing to act as advertised. How can CS market a product that has absolutely no relationship to the day's VIX?
      3/22/12
    • Julius Ferraro: people can bid it higher then its worth. this is only for ETN's which are completely different then ETF's
      3/22/12
    • Financial Insights: When an ETN is trading so much higher than NAV this is bound to happen. Plus, by buying TVIX you are indirectly loaning money to CS hell no!

    • Erick McKitterick: This is exactly the reason why I don't trade anything which does not have options. They could have tipped off the huge plunge.

    • winyuen: Where can I find the NAV for TVIX?
      3/22/12
    • Erick McKitterick: http://bit.ly/GF9wOc This has the current NAV rates for TVIX
      3/22/12
    • untrusting investor: Yes, probably lots of margin calls tomorrow.
      3/22/12
    • Erick McKitterick: The VIX could be up big tomorrow and TVIX could easily trade to 8.50 or lower depending on the amount of leverage people are using.
      3/22/12
    • winyuen: Thanks Erick. How often does the NAV rate change? CS says it will reopen the issuance of TVIX shares. How much lower can TVIX go?
      3/23/12
    • Erick McKitterick: If investors don't bid up TVIX it could go much lower. Some say shorts are a problem, see what happens when there are no bids. That's Worse
