  • Finding Opportunity In Eurodollar Spreads [View article]
First of all, Sep'18 is completely illiquid. If someone would try to make a choice for second leg of your spread then Mar'17 is the best one. Then if you take a look at this spread's historical chart (continuous contracts, of course. GEc2 and GEcm22 in terms of Reuters symbology) you will see that it is already at quite low levels. At the moment it is near 2.09, being 4.82 at Jan'11 and 3.00 during recent rally at October. When we had Lehman situation, this spread has gone to 1. So you make a bet on rare event and your possible profit is nearly 100 bp, the same as your possible loss in case of market rally.
Sorry, but such rare events as bankruptcies of big financial institutes deserves much better profit/loss ratio. Buying puts on XLF will be much better deal in this case.

There is something you didn't mention. CBP's auditor (Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corporation) is not reliable.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, I still support it.

Thanks for your thoughts, guys, but I'm talking about spread here. And I wrote that in case of further depression in NG prices, I guess that this spread should contract also and quite soon.

That's too dangerous and uncertain. I'm not sure, whether downtrend on NG has finished (honestly, I think, it will continue).
