  • Chevrolet Volt's Failure Foreshadows Tesla's Fate [View article]
SA should add an author review by reader feature. If the review is persistently bad over a certain amount of time, the author, like this one, should be barred from publishing. It will save people time to skip garbage articles.

  • Is Tesla About To Burn Individual Investors? [View article]
Actually it was a loan guaranteed by the government. The lender was not the government. Tesla of course had to pay interest.

Console gaming is not coming back in any case. PC gaming is what gamers do. That's why NV sells a lot of graphic cards with good profits. AMD has been in the consoles exclusively for years. It didn't do much for them.

  • Nvidia Again Faces 2 Extreme Threats [View article]
Why NV walked away from the console business? One word: China. There is no console in China where the gaming business has been growing. Find out for yourself if you don't know why there is no console in China. Game developers have to sell games in China. There goes AMD's "console advantage".
Why x86/Intel is not the real problem for NV? One word: OS. Android is free, windows is not. Android is the OS of the future. PC shipment has sunk double digit last year. Eventually, there will not be enough x86 machines around to attach GPU to. x86 is a sinking ship.
This whole article is looking in the rear mirror.

  • The Dark Side Of Tesla's Masterful Short Squeeze [View article]
I don't agree with the author. I think his energy is misdirected for his own sake. But I think he is doing a service to Tesla by keeping the support base energized. Thank you.

  • A Brilliant Move By Elon Musk Against The New York Times' Damning Review [View article]
It is nearly impossible to prove Broder's intent. However, given CNN's report, it is clear that he failed to exercise common sense and tried to blame it on Tesla.

  • Hurdles For Apple Longs [View article]
I agree with the author that Apple must maintain its first-to-market advantage with innovative products. There a signs recently Apple is losing that edge. I am working on an article on why iPhone 5 is struggling in China. Apple's thread from Android, i.e. open platform, is real.

  • Is Tesla A Buy, A Short Or A Stay-Away? [View article]
Fuel Cell is a remarkable piece of technology in itself. It is applicable in many places. Some of its applications are unique. Automobile is not one of them unfortunately. I didn't intent to bash its existence.

Fuel cell is a fine piece of technology. It has its role in many applications. Automobile is not one of them unfortunately. I didn't mean to bash fuel cell's existence. It is amazing how many energy sources are available and how few are suitable for cars.

  • Tesla Motors And SolarCity Have Innovative Financing Models [View article]
Why I didn't by Nissan Leaf or Chevy Volt, but bought a Tesla Model S.

Leaf and Volt ask too much compromise from their buys. Leaf's range is only 80 miles. It is a small car. It's performance sucks. For the same price, you can get a better gasoline car. Volt has the same problems associated with Leaf. It's hybrid power train is a bad idea. They stuffed a set of electric and a set gas power train in the car. Half of it is dead weight being hauled around at any time. You have to maintain two sets of power trains. The interior is tiny. The back seat can seat only two.
Model S is exciting. For the same money, it is bigger than a gas car, it performs better, its range is comparable to a gas car, it looks great, it has exciting features that no other cars have. Finally, it has all the benefits expected of an electric car. To quote Mr. Musk "It is the best of any car." I can't think of a good reason not to buy it except for those who don't have the cash or the ability to finance at the moment.
