Great post Hillel. It's interesting to see that even big companies, who understand how to drive traffic and build their brand in other contexts, are missing your basic points about Twitter.

sethmcs, I think you are not really disagreeing with the author. His point seems to be that PR is not about spinning something, it's about management taking swift & public responsibility for (in this case) problems in their companies. If the PR department is not handling the public coverage of a problem well, it's a strong indicator of incompetent management.
Great point. I bet, though, that the percentage of users who replace their phone with the same phone (even an upgraded model) is tiny. Most users take the opportunity a lost or broken phone presents to try something new. I wonder if Apple brand addiction will be enough to counter that.
