Good article, even if smart people often tell me that biofuels won't cut the mustard. That being the case I hesitate to accept your argument just now, even though I would like to, since buying oil for $147/b again is bad news. But make no mistake, biofuels should be looked at very carefully.

M-F, you have the right idea. The question though is whether it should be a 25% calculation or something else. I happen to believe that figuring out how much is not too difficult a calculation, but this time I think that I'll let somebody else handle the slide rule. Congradulations.
If the expression energy independence is to make sense, then more ethanol is going to be required. The question is however how much. President Obama's energy experts should get started on that issue as soon as possible, hopefully remembering that more than ethanol should be in the renewables portfolio.
