  • Top Monthly Pay Dividend Dogs: January Lists [View article]
Thank you Chancer for your excellent proof-reading of my numbers. There were numerous cuts in dividends around the first of the year. I especially apologize for not catching LNCO since I did catch the cut to sister company LINE.

PSEC reduced their monthly dividend to $.0833 per share beginning in February 2015 per a press release dated December 8.

Very true, bernie 1, thanks for your observation. However, buying at the current price will lock in your yield at its current level (unless management chooses to reduce the dividend at some future point).

    Good point, Hardog,
The market is apparently saying this is a great time to get valuable stocks at bargain prices. The direction of their price movement is the great unknown.

Thanks for asking about ERF dividends, Finom1. Your question must be answered by anyone thinking of buying ERF at this level. If the price erosion ends and reverses here at the $10 level, I'd guess the dividend will continue at the $.08 per month level and maybe increase as the price rises. A further erosion in price to the $5 level will likely reduce the dividend to about $.04 per month. The wizards of wall street are saying this is probably the bottom. But the say that every day, even as the price skids.

Thanks for asking for clarification, Omar Kiyani. The first chart shows price gains. The middle chart shows rankings by yield. The last charts show net gains.

Someone is bound to ask about the Armour Residential REIT (ARR) 20% dividend rate cut announced three days after this article was written. The change will put ARR in ninth place with a 12.8% yield instead of fifth with a 16% yield among these 49 MoPay Dogs.

Thanks for your comment, valuecker1982. As dividend suspensions are announced those culprits are dropped from the list. Dividend reductions are not cause for dismissal. Frequently a warning is posted.

Nope, GonzoOne, its a fresh one. Some of the December 5 pups dropped out as they suspended dividends. Those still reporting are getting outrageous upside estimates from analysts. Looks like to oil bubble is about to burst!
