Good point, Feckless191! Do you want to be the one to tell David Fish to throw CLMT off his Challenger list? There are similar doubts for AMAT, ASH, CNL, COH, MAT, MCK, ORIT, TAL and more on the Challengers list, all noted on the list itself online at

  • 10 Top Dividend Russell 1000 Dogs See 12% To 37% May Upsides [View article]
The following amendments to the above article result from my $.84 error in reporting the WIN dividend.
The upside projections are unchanged. Price upside targets from 10 analysts do result in a mean target estimate of $11.
Ranked by yield, top ten Russell 1000 dogs dithered down as both price and dividend declined as ten Dow dividend dogs charged up into May.
Top-thirty Russell 1000 firms imagined net gains averaging 13.69%
Analysts projected average 26.11% 1-year net gains for FTR, WIN, NRF, NLY, SRC, RRD, AGNC, CXW, CTL, and OUT. They saw NYCB losing 3.96% by May 2016.
Essentially the corrected dividend yield of 7.09% for WIN puts that stock in tenth place instead of first by yield for May.
I sincerely apologize for my error.

  • 7.11% Juice For 5 Highest Yield, Lowest Price Russell 1000 And 2000 Combo May Dogs [View article]
Thanks for detecting my error, larraud, whor, and TBL. The paragraph in the press release announcing the revised WIN dividend puzzled me:
"As a reminder, following the spin-off of CS&L on April 24, 2015 and after giving effect to the one-for-six reverse stock split, Windstream expects to pay an annual dividend of $.60 per share, paid quarterly."
My apologies for adjusting the projected future WIN dividend up instead of down. The $.60 annual dividend would have placed WIN number 41 by yield instead of number one on this consolidated list. Analyst median 1 yr. target estimate, however remains at $11 putting WIN number two by upside. Admittedly, in a rewrite of this article WIN would rate a footnote and not the top spot.

I agree, R Williams, the title needs work. How's the following?
"Dow Dogs maximize overbought status. Should IBM really rank as a top ten dog?"
It's my tweet for this post.

Thanks for pointing out NEWT, Broadcaster 1. It's a microcap stock and not ready for this SML prime time list. Another 18M of capitalization is needed to get NEWT to 200K.

Thanks for catching my gaff, bobhairgrove! Ill amend upcoming charts for MCC. The $1.20 annual dividend moves MCC down to sixth place by yield from third.

Thanks for our note of caution, Matthew Waterman. These are not recommendations as stated in the article. They are what bubble to the surface in a process of review by current yield and 1 year future upside and net gain as graded by the wizards of Wall Street. There are those who believe these are mostly contrarian suggestions.
