  • Himax Technologies Led 10 M/Y Technology Dogs To 6% To 60% June Upsides [View article]
Thank you Bill Fabrizzi for sharing your thoughts on HIMX. It is a stock that floats on unconfirmed rumors of a new product related to Google glasses. For those who bought it at $6 way before the crash when HIMX was creating products to enhance high definition TV screens, this temporary upside you predict may be their last selling opportunity.

  • Atlantic Power Co. 40% Price Upside Sparked Utilities Sector June Dogs [View article]
Thank you AAAAmerican for your thoughts. The electorate can throw the D.C. rascals out every two to four years. Similarly stockholders can throw AT board members out at the next annual meeting. I trust that is your point.

Thank you Jean Peuplu for commenting on AT and its directors. A recent Alpha post suggested that a sale of the company was the best solution to replacing managers. However a shareholder rights measure adopted at the last annual meeting acts as a poison pill to prevent an outside takeover. Methinks the current managers will sell off assets to save themselves. Nevertheless, the Wall St. wizards one year mean target price for AT pegs it with a 40% upside as of 6/28/14. We'll see...

  • Sanofi's 31% Upside Leads Healthcare Sector Dogs In June [View article]
Thanks for your observation and request, gstanleyjr. SNY is a hot dog in the estimation of four Wall St. wizard analysts, anyway. Both BMY and MRK were considered in the above article with MRK showing up in eighth place with an estimated 13.65% net upside based on the estimates from 15 analysts. AZN for some reason did not make the top 20 cut per The Yahoo Finance healthcare sector screen this month. Wait until next month AZN may return to the top dog kennel.

  • Sanofi's 31% Upside Leads Healthcare Sector Dogs In June [View article]
Thanks CF4Lisvane for putting Sanofi in its appropriate dividend paying place. Dog strategy makes no distinctions about frequency of dividend payments, only yield drives the dog bus. But to your point, SNY is number 16 on that yield scale for Healthcare dogs. Moreover, SNY has a beta Rating of 1.08, showing it to be 8% more risky than the market as a whole. No doubt a value player.

  • PTNR 300% Price Upside Sparks Technology Sector June Dogs [View article]
Thank you tdschiller for your query. Yahoo Finance credits PTNR with a $.78 per share annual dividend. However, with no announcements of suspended dividends by the company, and a recent payment of $.256 per share last August, I gave the company credit for a possible $.30 dividend payable within the next year based on dividend history and an optimistic stock price upside. You may choose to disagree that any dividend is forthcoming. Incidentally, a $.30 per share dividend at a stock price of $25 produces a 1.2% annual yield.

Thanks Norman Tweed. For once you are not the first to comment. We'll see if the Wall St. wizard wisdom holds for FTR and CTL in the coming months.

Thank you hermit99 for providing some missing detail behind the PTNR trading. Yahoo shows a 3 mo. average volume at 74,941 shares. Thin indeed. Who are the three analysts anyway?

Thank you hashultz for your astute comments. The 13 analysts for PTNR is a typographical error. There were three and the data is provided to Yahoo finance be Thompson/First Call. I agree that since I featured PTNR that more fundamental facts should support the numbers. Future articles will dig deeper I to the sector leader business lives.

Thanks Norman Tweed for your following and comments. The Wall St. wizards make the forecasts. The CAT projection is based on a one year mean target price based on input from 21 wizards (broker/analysts). I am but the messenger.

Good question, bleeping jelly! Your guess is as good as any. Buy more? I see the wall street wizards have a 1 year mean target price of $6.33 for ARR. But they are paid to be positive amid the carnage.

Thanks TOMMER for asking. It is somewhat unfair to categorize the payout to shareholders from an mREIT like the ones you cite as dividends. Their returns to shareholders are mandated by tax laws and they all must return at least 90% of their income to shareholders by law or pay income taxes. Thus mREIT "dividends" are entirely legal tax avoidance payments. It might b helpful to dig deeper into those showing returns greater than 90% of income. Worth an article perhaps in light of the recent bear market for these entities.
