Thanks for asking Rob of Arabia. My take it to let the market and the analysts estimates battle out the future of ARR. Three to five years should reel the tale for ARR, too. Never thought ARR would be a buy and hold for an upside play.

Thanks mrmystery for asking. Market book value is almost the same as market value. In a what if I sold that day scenario, market value determines the price to which cumulative dividends are added to determine market book value. If brokerage costs were subtracted then we'd be talking net value.

  • 6 Big Services Sector Dogs Show 16.5% To 48% Sept. Upsides [View article]
Thanks harv$ for your heads-up about the CODI business model. I use Yahoo Finance industry classifications which puts Compass Diversified Holdings in the service sector as a staffing and outsourcing services firm. Nevertheless their business description in that category states:
"Compass Diversified Holdings is a public investment firm specializing in acquiring controlling stakes in small to middle market companies."
Perhaps Yahoo Finance will soon reclassify it.

Thank you Norman Tweed for following the tech dogs. There's more to the sector than telcos but the others are harder to connect with.

Thank you Norman Tweed for your insights about CAT and the lost boys of Indigo Neverland. Somebody is always building big things somewhere. The Chinese are not the only builders. And there are ten dogs noted here with upsides in excess of 4%. Very industrious dogs dig up big bones.

Law firms and ad agencies are still frequently organized as partnerships using cash basis accounting. Easy, peasey, the partners report their partnership income with their personal taxes as described on form 10K.

Thanks for touting your favorite "sin" dog, Miz. Although MO and PM both show better upsides than your revered VGR this month.

There was a time when most high profile financial investment and accounting firms were partnerships. "Making Partner" once upon that time was a "big deal"!
