    Thank you Trumpace for your correction of the AGNC dividend. I extend apologies to all readers. AGNC also failed to capture significant 1 yr target price estimates from analysts. Not a good month for the mREITs.

  • 10 Top S&P Aristocrat Dogs Vaunt 6% To 16% Sept. Upsides [View article]
    Thank you for your recommendation, acc29lac18. I agree. Aristocrat dividend dogs are frequently used as vehicles to generate retirement income from invested cash. This article attempts to parse the good from the bad and ugly in this index.

    Thank you for reading and commenting hwood007. Do you limit yourself to 16 large cap blue chips or are you open to riskier higher yielding dogs in level 4?

    Thanks Norman Tweed for getting up so early to respond to the Wall St. wizardly predictions for the telcos. We'll see in a year or so how accurately the wizards prognosticate.

  • Top Ten Dow Dogs Flaunt 7.6% To 17.8% September Price Upsides [View article]
    Thanks for your observations Eaglemmx. Those who swept their dog pound gains into an HPQ buy in January were well rewarded from its price run up this year. The Wall St. wizards have it slated for further gains from this point. Still, I think there's only so much magic Meg Whitman can muster for HPQ. Their transition to a consultancy is light years behind IBM but it is the right move.

    Thank you Tony Pow for your recommendations. Two of my earliest articles describe my Dogs of the Dow experience back testing the dogs in play between 2006 and 2011. They fared well and especially well when MO spun off KFT and PM. Note the expensive lesson for buy and holders of MRK in the second (7 dog) article: http://seekingalpha.co...;

    Thank for your observation, Norman Tweed. My straight Dow Dog annually adjusted portfolio has held T since 2005. The redoubtable Ma Bell has never fallen out of the top ten by yield.

    Thank you for the heads up SSaA. The new Dow dogs will be included in my October articles. Alcoa (AA), Bank of America (BAC), and Hewlett Packard (HPQ) will be supplanted by Goldman Sachs (GS), Visa (V), and Nike (NKE). I don't expect any of the newbies to hit the top ten by yield.

    Thanks for asking Guardian3981. A dog is any stock that places in the top five or ten showing highest dividend/price yield in any index, sector, or industry. Dogs of the Dow built the model that was popularized by Michael B. O'Higgins in his book, "Beating the Dow" published by HarperCollins in 1991.

    Thanks for asking about the dog trading strategy, MBehr55. It's a once per year trading system triggered by yield. The follower selects five or ten stocks in an index, sector, or industry showing the highest dividend/price yield. The collection is held for one year and the stocks that drop out of the top five or ten (because their prices have increased and their resulting yields are lower) are replaced by new high yield dogs. This goes on year after year and the gains are swept up for income or reinvestment in a new collection of dogs. For a complete explanation go here: http://bit.ly/WojPvK.h
