Thanks linkdonald for your observation. The financial industry tries to portray stock selection as rocket science. Portraying the business as mind-numbingly complex is their game. But it's not, only the story tellers are trying to distract us with smoke and mirrors to create tales full of sound and fury signifying nothing. In other words, "fogeddabout da funds".

May the sub always shine on your new year, BluesHendu. But I disagree about "wise one". I believe "wise guy" is more appropriate.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Depending on when you initially bought INTC and KO you might be well served to buy more shares in these down times to maximize future returns.

Thank you nino90nino for your question. The dog strategy points to opportunities to go long based on higher yields compared to peers. At this time one year mean target pricing from three analysts projects better than a 60% upside for PBI.

Thanks Norman Tweed for your continued support of yield as a measure of investment opportunity. As long as the pack is strong price appreciation usually follows.

  • Monthly Pay Dividend Dogs: December Stocks Vs. Funds And Trusts [View article]
Thanks for your inquiry Lee 99. Here,s the quote from PR Newswire:
    "Monthly Distributions
IGD estimates that for the current fiscal year as of November 30, 2012, approximately 27% of each distribution is characterized as net investment income, 3% is characterized as short-term capital gain, and 70% is characterized as return of capital."
Apparently the company sees this as true for their accounting purposes.
