I appreciate the explanation of your thought process, Davy. However, a takeaway for newer investors is that taxable gains shouldn't play too large a role in the decision to take profits. I used to weigh tax considerations before selling, too, and missed the apex values of some holdings. Gladly pay the tax: book the gain.
