    In the past few months, I've been too preoccupied with the 2013 California Economic Summit to write on a consistent basis for Seeking Alpha. As a member of the CES Infrastructure Action Team, I participated in brainstorming sessions and teleconference calls with business leaders, academic experts, and elected officials across California to address its $765 billion public infrastructure deficit and offer solutions for adoption by state legislature. We focused on specific aspects of the California infrastructure, namely adapting California's water and transportation infrastructure to its growing economy and exploring new sources of infrastructure funding such as VMT taxes and Vehicle License Taxes. The California Economic Summit is on November 7-8 and I highly recommend registering for it as it is an invaluable forum for economic ideas that can be applied to situations beyond California's.

    But now the work from the California Economic Summit has lessened and I'm back and ready to hit the ground running!

  • Stating The Obvious

    But something the markets don't seem to get. Bill Dudley, the President of the NY Federal Reserve, emphasized today that the pace of the asset purchases under quantitative easing depends on the economy, not a set time schedule.

  • More Nationwide Strikes In Greece

    This time over Prime Minister Antonis Samaras's decision to close down ERT, Greece's only state broadcaster. Samaras had abruptly shut ERT down as part of the fiscal austerity measures Greece has continued to choke down. The nationwide strike will be on Thursday and, fueled by Greece's two biggest labor unions, will disrupt transport and force hospitals to work on emergency staff.
