I haven't been trading for very long, but I started with penny stocks. I really enjoy the Forex market. I have portfolios on Fidelity and Oanda. I hope to learn more about the great companies out there through Seeking Alpha!
I have been investing in Mutual Funds since
1981. And yes I lost money in the crash of
1987. Thanks to seeing a Robert Precther
interview before the market crash of that year.
I pulled 1/2 of the money that I had invested
Fidelity Capital Apprecation fund close to the
top of the market in late August of that year.
However, I lost more money, by remaining in
cash, waiting for an even deeper cash just
like it happened in 1929, and therefore I did
miss the beginning of the current bull market
since that time, pretty much. Then in the mid
90's I began trading ETFs, since they have
greater leverage, and I am still hooked on
Gold Miners ETFs because Gold is predictable

Overall I am a conservative investor with a diversified portfolio. As a sideline I gamble on single positions for a short-term gain. I hunt for bargains especially in Tech as that is my home turf. I do this normally (but not always) for a day trade before escaping back to cash.
My specialty is the technology sector. I am not very knowledgeable overall in market economics. I am learning how to use options for shorting, and margin trading for short term call bets.
