  • Another 'Typical' Tesla PR Stunt [View article]
Yeah, as long as you don't stop for gas or eat or sleep or take pictures or enjoy any leisurely ride whatsoever and take a b-line straight route, sure, you'd be in Chicago.

    One quarter's guidance?

The guidance was sustainable 25% and going up from there.

How's that 25% includes ZEV credit thing claim working out for you?

    lol

You don't need to be a psychic to know Tesla's sales will be up over 100% in 2014.

Then again, some people actually didn't have a clue that Tesla's earnings are reported non-GAAP excluding ZEV credits.

Tesla is building the factories by itself. They would have already been built, but its suppliers didn't think Tesla was serious.

    Now they do.

Age doesn't matter as even a 7 year old has figured out by now that Tesla reports its numbers as non-GAAP excluding ZEV credits.

Wrong. 25% margin is the guidance for the fourth quarter, and yes, it excludes ZEV credits as everybody and his mother pointed out to you.

That same logic is what they said about AMZN that it should be valued like Wal-mart.

Obviously the market doesn't value TSLA like any ole car company.

Growing tenfold in earnings is not the same as growing tenfold in cars sold.

Something to ponder: TSLA's annualized gross profit will be close to $5.00 per share in the upcoming report. Getting to $5.00 in EPS will be a walk in the park as sales and gross profits lift further. Sure, overhead will continue to lift as well but not at the same pace.

The wild card bears miss is additional revenue and profits coming from non-vehicle sales.

Newsflash for you. Tesla's non-GAAP earnings are reported EXCLUDING any "energy tax credits" A.K.A. ZEV (zero-emission vehicle) credits.

I've been investing, successfully, quite a long time. Long enough to know not to thump my chest and declare Tesla's profits are due to tax credits when those profits are reported withOUT tax credits.

It doesn't matter if I'm under 40, over 40, as long as I can read and understand the very basic of tax credits. It's shocking how many bears are shorting and losing their life savings based on the naive and wrong assumption that Tesla's profits are due to tax credits when they are not.

    or like Amazon during 1999.

A list of unprofitable names from 1999 run by wet-behind-the-ears CEOs is kind of silly comparing them to Tesla that's already profitable when the company just barely started, is growing like a weed, and has a CEO who actually has a long history of success.

I laughed at Etoys (ETYS), pets.com (PETS), and Global Crossing (GLX) myself. I even remember the symbols. They aren't relevant, and I don't recall anybody ever claiming that Etoys.com or Pets.com was a game-changer. If they did, they were idiots. Those companies had enormous losses and cash burn while Tesla is about to report a profit of $50 million for last quarter alone despite the huge growth curve ahead and huge investments now.

Considering TSLA's growth rate so far, it's hard to argue that 20% is conservative.

TSLA's 2013 sales up over 500%. They'll probably be up over 100% for 2014. And that's top-line figures. Bottom line 20% EPS growth Tesla could do with its eyes closed.

The elephant in the room is made of straw and was created by shorts.

Tesla and its partners are exponentially expanding capacity. It only takes time and not a lot of it. Lithium is only 1% to 2% of the battery. Don't let the name lithium-ion battery fool you into thinking it's a lot of lithium. Lithium, as Musk as stated, isn't a bottleneck.
