The only thing that's hilarious is the supercharge network is around 5 minutes old and already being mocked for not yet being available on 100% of the roads.
Question: how long did it take to build the fist gas-powered road network that went cross country after the gas-powered automobile was invented?

Shipping is included in COGS. Car crashes causes fires. That's not unique to Tesla.

"In that case, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the fire started when a curved metal object punched a 3-inch hole through the armored plate that protects the battery. The car contained the blaze to one section of the battery, and the driver was able to get out before flames engulfed the front of the car.

Musk added that fires are much more common in vehicles with conventional gas engines.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said last week that it doesn't plan to investigate the Oct. 2 incident because there is no indication that it was caused by a safety defect or that the Model S is violating federal safety standards."

    Three things.

    1. Panasonic is only one of the partners. It's not a "supply cap."

    2. Panasonic has already delivered "higher than expected" supply and it just started. Again, not a "supply cap."

    3. 80k vehicles is 2X to 3X 2014 production as I stated. Plus I wasn't saying $500 per share tomorrow.

Yeah, as long as you don't stop for gas or eat or sleep or take pictures or enjoy any leisurely ride whatsoever and take a b-line straight route, sure, you'd be in Chicago.

Might help if you actually read the article.

I made it clear double to triple production and demand (walk in the park i.m.o.) and years into the future? I couldn't have emphasized that more in the article.

Check out the twitter pics of the snow. Most gas drivers wouldn't have even continued in that. :)

  • No, We Are Not Seeing 'Musk's Tesla Exit Strategy' [View article]
Normally I'd agree in regards to 99.9999% of the population, but I think Musk is a rare special breed. There are few and far between examples in history, but I believe Musk fits in there.

Also, the management is probably hands-off from Musk on a lot of it kind of like Warren Buffett who is the CEO of dozens of companies. Musk is probably more lab rat engineer than you think just like Buffett is more investment lab rat than involved in day-to-day hands-on management.

Experts in management would probably agree that the secret to great management is finding qualified others you can trust to do all the work for you.

They also drove the Tesla through a thick snow storm and thick snow-covered roads:

They said on twitter they are "taking it slow and easy due to weather."

Musk says he can work 100 hours per week if need be. 50 hours each of Musk's time is better value than most CEOs can contribute in 100 hours at one job.

Have you looked at the snow they are driving through yet?

Unless your gas-powered car comes with wings, I don't think you'd be in Chicago driving the same route.

  • No Dilution Worry On Tesla Motors [View article]
The 25 million options are already part of the fully diluted share count. It does not represent additional dilution. Earnings per share accounts for those options before they are even exercised.

70mph in 6-inch high snow and a snowstorm?

    Good luck with that fantasy.

  • Tesla Motors: Dilution Is Inevitable [View article]
Other car manufacturers have tiny gross profit margins. Tesla is already making cars 2-3 times more efficiently than Ford and Toyota. Further economies of scale will make it even more efficient. Numbers-wise, seems you're comparing apples to oranges.
