I am with slickvguy on thoughts about shorting. I personally have shorted only one stock in my investing history of 4 years but I do not agree with the thought process that says shorts are speculative. Value investing could be both in my opinion. If a stock is great value then I buy it and if I think that the stock is really poor value then I short it.
By the times things get decided, the stock may have slowly moved up and there may be little chance left to enter. The downside is limited from here given how strong the company is. I do think that even upside is limited - another 15-20% this year. It can do another 5-8% maybe. So I would rather buy now and try to get 10% returns. This is what I target anyways.

I also think WCN is a great company but the market has probably priced in the growth already and so I don't consider it a good value buy right now. The P/E is close to 30 right now - I would rather buy it when the P/E is 16-18.

Have you looked at any natural gas companies? Is there a value play in any of those? Not transportation or pipeline companies but exploration, production, distribution perhaps. DVN, CHK etc.
