  • Dividend Growth Investing: An Introduction To Creating Wealth (Part 2) [View article]
Fantastic article Dave and thanks for the kind words re: longrundata. I'm still amazed that DGI still comes under the criticism that it does. Young or old investors can find that a company's dividend strategy provides deep insights into management's philosophy regarding returning cash to owners and reinvesting appropriately in the business. The 'longrun' facts speak for themselves. Keep up the great work!

  • Why We Are Keynesians [View article]
SU, very good article. I don't think that I have ever come across a short, neat, and readable summary of Keynesian theory as this one. Your explanation of Keynes is outstanding. While no Keynesian myself, I will use your article in the classroom - I teach high school business, history, and math. Thank you!

One question/thought: critics of the 2008 stimulus and subsequent QE have always thrown out the 'inevitable inflation' argument and inflation has been negligible. I believe it will remain negligible for some time, perhaps a long time because we are not measuring productivity accurately. While we haven't had a technology shock, I think it's safe to say we've had a technology slow burn over the last 30 or 40 years that productivity data hasn't been able to capture. Hence, little if any inflation due to an extremely productive economy that is easily withstanding QE, stimulus, money printing, intergenerational theft , etc.

So, is our productivity data bad? Is our understanding of productivity and/or utility wrong in an era of rapidly expanding technology? Or is my understanding bad/wrong? Any thoughts or comments would be great. Thanks again, Harvey.

I know, I'm a longtime JNJ holder myself. Patience will pay off with stock as it has in the past. Other considerations would be BMY, NVS, and LLY. I like all three in terms of yield and growth. I am currently long Novartis and am giving carefull thought to Bristol Myers.

I appreciate your comment and feel free to stay in touch. Best regards, Harvey
