    gators,
Since I am an owner as well, I am hoping the European expansion is working for them. I am convinced that the ages of US and European populations is working in our favor with this stock.

    L Stephen,
I guess I must read every article Brad posts in order to be up to date on his list. A search on SA only brought up the 2 positive articles.
    Regards

    L Stephen,
This is the latest post that Brad had on MPW on SA.
If he is writing somewhere else, I am not on it.

    rado403,
I saw this as a positive move, not a negative. It is OK to have emotional attachments to a place if it doesn't mar one's analysis of the project.

    NYKnifeDealer,
Acute care facilities have special needs within the buildings to meet codes that are not part of other facilities. Buildings must also accommodate all the special equipment that goes along with acute care. It is quite different from building apartments or stores.

    scotty10,
It would be nice if the company would raise the dividend. I don't expect it to happen until next year.

  • 6-Month Review: Comparison Of $10,000.00 CD To A $10,000.00 Dividend Portfolio [View article]
    hetmeel2,
You pose a very good question. I chose to sell because I also thought it possible for the dividend and the price of the stock to go south. I probably sold 6 months too early, but I decided it is better to be a little early than too late.
Of course, I may be all wrong. It is hard to predict the interest rate case at the moment.
    Cheers

    Russ Dam,
You have a good plan. Having retirement funds in an IRA saves one from taxation on the dividends and capital gains. It can grow faster than you think as you continue to add funds and invest them well.
    Thanks for your comments.

    George Edwards,
You are a much more patient man than I am. When I started investing, I had very little money and leveraged it by buying stocks that were beaten down or edgy. It has served me well. Now that I can buy quality stocks, I have a hard time changing the way that I invest. SA has been a huge help in that regard and I am still learning.
Thanks for your interest and comments.
    Regards
    Henry

    Dc10,
You are correct about the issue of the 1 year time frame. The question in real time is whether the CD or stock portfolio will win.
It is my contention that in our current financial situation that the stock portfolio will win. The test will either bear out my contention or prove it wrong. If the market takes a huge swing down, I will be proven wrong.
Thanks for your interest and comments.
    Cheers

Since you are concerned about inflation, what are you doing to protect your assets from eating away your nest egg?

    Russ Dam,
You make a good case for reinvesting one's dividends.
For someone like myself, I spend my dividends since I am retired.
I respect your idea for young people attempting to build a nest egg for the future.
    Cheers
    Henry
