Interesting point, but I think a standalone Kindle ecosystem is not likely to easily compete with the Play Store or the iTunes store. Therefore Kindle still needs Amazon's reputation and support in book selling business. Besides, the rise of digital books will eventually drive Amazon's physical books growth to negative. They will need the digital book growth to compensate the physical counterparts. The spin-off of the Kindle is gonna hurt Amazon more than helping it. Just my personal opinion of course.
Thanks for your comment, I'd say I am sorry about the typos.
For the Kindle segment, it doesn't make sense to spin it off since it is like the terminal for Amazon's digital contents. AWS is not quite related to the retail business, I believe a spinoff is possible to if AWS grow much bigger.

Oh well, I am long this stock. But I am little bit concern about the future of WoW.

The Amazon (AMZN) bull case has pivoted to a story of margin expansion from revenue growth after the company surprised analysts with better-than-expected profit margins during Q4. A number of firms are out with price target increases, citing margin expansion as a major factor. PT hikes: Barclays to $260 from $245; JPMorgan to $333 from $245; Baird to $325 from $300; BofA to $315 from $300; Credit Suisse to $334 from $301. AMZN +8.3% premarket to $281.62. [View news story]
It may sound silly, but the margin expansion is why it is rising.
This just in: The lawsuits against Bank of America (BAC -5.1%) are never going to stop. Despite the $10B+ settlement with Fannie Mae, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara makes clear he will continue to aggressively go after BofA for selling fraudulent loans to the GSEs. Maybe this, not the downgrade, is what has the shares in a funk today. [View news story]

First of all, I really thank you for your comment. Everyone can buy the stock at their own risk. No matter they make it or lose it, it is not my money. My job is to write an article that expresses my opinion and you can choose to read it or just discard it. By the way, why do you comment on every single article about UA? Why don't you write an article and let someone else to know your opinion? You can actually get paid for your thoughts, right?

Since Kevin Plank is going to sell more stocks after possible tax hike in 2013, the tax minimization view does not hold very well. In addition, I believe tax increase would hurt consumers more than investors as most people still use tax deferred accounts to invest. The S&P 500 is down by less than 3 percent from the September high of 1460, so tax probably is not the reason for UA's drop.

Direct to consumer will be more helpful in the long run, but partnership would boast the brand recognition at a faster pace. In my opinion, a balance approach with partnership and slowing open up DTC business would be better, which resembles the model in the States.

UA certainly has much higher growth rate, which is exactly the reason the stock is trading at very high multiples. However, when the growth rate is decreasing, the next Nike kind of hype would lead to a major correction. UA's recent stock price movement reminds me Apple's, a solid company with sky high expectation.
