  • 'Wintel' Buy of the Decade [View article]
A well written article.. but aside from the dividend yields and margins, there is little information backing up why "Wintel" would ever be the "buy of the decade". It's also worth noting that although they might not receive the same glamourous attention from investors as AAPL, these might be two of the most talked about "value plays" out there and they do receive ALOT of attention from the value/yield oriented camp. So this is not a bold call by any means. I love the Beautiful Mind reference, but I was looking for a little more insight as to why these two stocks will outperform the rest of the market over the next decade. Best of luck, -Ben

  • Why Is GDXJ Underperforming? [View article]
Why take the lazy way and buy into a "basket" of companies when you can do your homework by buying shares of specific miners that you believe have a significant competitive advantage over the others? This isn't a question specifically to the author, but anyone who buys these type of ETFs

  • The End of CCME's Fairy Tale [View article]
I really think that SA needs to make a change to their comment feature where each user MUST disclose their position in the company discussed in the article. There seems to be no line between legitimate points and biased points anymore, it seems as if Adverse Selection has caused only those with a stake in the company to truly write passionately about a company's prospects, either long or short biased.

I'm not sure who will end up winning this battle, for now it seems like the Shorts have a better case, but either way there needs to be some sort of disclosure not only by the Authors but the commenters as well.

  • Why Rosetta Stone's Strategy to Revitalize Itself Will Fail [View article]
It seems as if Mr. Bezek is very talented at battering and beating a stock while it's on it's way down, and he seems to stick to that strategy for how he contributes to the SA forum. I'm fairly familiar with 3 of the stocks he's posted bearish opinions on: YONG, QSPA, and RST and honestly- I like all three of them longterm with the real exception being QSPA which I may not be as bullish on but still see a high upside based on the growing latin user base and the valuation potential once other social networks go public.

There's always going to be dissenting view points about every stock traded, but I find it funny that three stocks that I am bullish on Mr. Bezek is extremely bearish.

When it comes to language software, you get what you pay for, and Rosetta Stone is by far the best in class in this category. Strictly on the fundamentals alone, you have to admit that language learning is a growing trend in all parts of the world, and you would be surprised to know the number of Americans who desire to learn another language that do not have the time for university classes. The international sales still represent a small portion of their revenue stream, and CEO Tom Adams has made it his goal to A) reduce piracy and B) promote and grow their international footprint. They are currently going through a rough phase of implementing a completely new way people are learning a language, a strategy that no other company or program is currently offering, but I feel they will emerge as a much stronger company offering a higher quality and better value product. I recently purchased RST once it dropped below 15, and feel it has a much higher upside from here on out than downside. Also check out LIOX, another play on globalization and translation except they do it for websites and software rather than teaching individuals. A growing niche that I feel also has lots of upside.

Thanks for your arguments, and perhaps playing a role in allowing me to buy at an even lower rate. I respect your opinion and only the future will determine which one of us will be right.

  • Lost in Translation? Rosetta Stone a Hold, Price Target at $11 [View article]
I think what many of you are missing in addressing the potential of this stock is the GLOBAL market, and the international sales potential of RST. It was briefly mentioned in a paragraph by the author, but this is a huge priority of Tom Adams, and I feel he will address this on the Q4 conference call today. Perhaps I was not as confident in buying up RST stock way up at 25, but at 15 I decided to take a dip in and see what the next year has in store for the company at a reasonable discount to its 50 day MA. It's easy to beat a stock while it's down, but I feel that this is a growing market and RST has no REAL competition. If any of you have tried other language software out there you will know that you truly get what you pay for and RST is the "best-in-class" by far in this category.

I am a full believer in the globalization and multi-language aspect of the world economy, and have added RST to my portfolio along with LIOX which is a leading online software and website translation company. If RST interests any of you out there, I highly recommend you take a look at LIOX.

  • CCME: Extensive Research Confirms It's the Real Deal [View article]
Closed out position today in CCME. Bought @ 12.50, sold at 14.50. Too much uncertainty remaining out there, and after a thorough review of GHS's report, theres still many questions to be answered. I'll take the 15% and put my money in something else.

I agree. I am not LONG CCME per say, but I did recently purchase shares last week purely based on it's recent dip and plan to take profits in the near future. But, one of the concerning things is what you just mentioned, and that is that perhaps this company is in over their heads as far as regulatory filings and SEC rules go- regardless of the legitimacy of their business and their intentions.

  • CCME: Extensive Research Confirms It's the Real Deal [View article]
I added CCME at 12.50 only after seeing just how many people were jumping off the boat and ready to call this company a fraud with no legitamate evidence. Is it possible they made a small mistake or two? Yes. Does this mean it's value should drop by 50% and half of all shares held being shorted? No. There's a buy opportunity for every stock and although this may not be the glorious, high growth stock many of the longs make it out to be, there was a short window in my opinion where this was an amazing buying opportunity.

Many people do not short stocks for the simple reason that your potential return is capped at 100%, while the upside on any stock is theoretically unlimited. This is why all the shorts can hope and pray this stock goes down another 20-30% and they would be ecstatic, meanwhile, the many people who are long realize this can be a nice opportunity to enter at a very discounted valuation and the upside is unlimited. Not saying this will go to 1,000 like the sarcastic gentle above me, but a recovery to pre-MW report is not out of the question and would be a nice return.

Business Economics Analyst- forgive me if I'm mistaken because I am still a student of the financial markets and how they work, and I understand that volatility of a stock can obviously screw with a Stop-Loss set up, but your argument to me pretty much holds the same basis as not driving when its raining out because your car COULD get struck by lighting. Do flash crashes happen? Yes. Do they happen often enough to deter me from protecting my losses in this case? No.

Easy decision for me. I bought CCME at 12.50 yesterday, and will continue to let it ride with a Stop-Loss set at 12.00. I don't know why people don't use stop losses more, but in a situation like this, with a potential 60-80% return in 30-45 days, and a downside for me of only around 4-5%, this seems like a no brainer. I honestly LOVE buying stocks when everyone else hates them, and with a short float this high, any positive news could send this thing through the roof.

  • Think Sirius XM Is Overvalued? Take a Closer Look [View article]
It's all about percentage points and in this case a mere 17 cent decline is still 10% you can't just assume 9 cents means nothing when your talking about a stock that trades for a dollar and change. Are the bulls really this blind?

  • Commodities Bubble: Why I'd Avoid Iron Ore at Current Levels [View article]
I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure last year was the first year that Iron Ore contracts started becoming quarterly rather than yearly, and that gives huge pricing power to the iron ore companies and enables them to price contracts more closely to what the market fundamentals are currently determining.

Also of note is the ridiculous market share that "the big three" hold. You can't just assume that rising prices will mean that other competitors will automatically cut into their global share simply based on a "profitability" stand point. I still see room in all three companies extending to the end of this year, and currently hold shares of VALE.

  • Five Top-Ranked Timely Undervalued Growth Stocks [View article]
I got in CRUS about a month ago at 18 and have absolutely loved the results thus far. I have not sold although a trailing stop loss is not a bad idea, I really think this still has a bunch of room left in this one. Pretty sure one of their Directors bought 145,000 shares yesterday so I'm sure he agrees with me.

Of note is that both zagg and CRUS are indirect plays on the success of AAPL which is why I have held positions in both this winter. It only seems right that the worlds second largest company will have a few small companies rise to the top with it and zagg and CRUS are both prime examples.
