We think investors need to have a sense of the political environment to be able to make intelligent decisions about the economy and stock market. The debt crisis is a huge reason the market is going up and down so dramatically, so it's odd that you don't want analysis on these topics. At the end of the day, fiscal and monetary policy have massive implications for corporate earnings. Hence, we follow it like a hawk and then analyze it.
This then informs our investment decisions. At least you'll like half of what we write!

We agree with the "boring" assessment. We have done some off-the-cuff surveys with friends and family and the feedback has been consistent: facebook is becoming less cool and not used as much. People are getting sick of the same old stuff on there. Also, we hear that Twitter and Pinterest are where all the "cool kids" are going.

Love the "I am always a bear that realizes he has to be in the game to make money." Great quote, and insightful. It's good to be cautious -- "trust but verify" in a way. But you are right, getting scared and running away is usually the wrong answer. Even in our negative stance, we have 40% of the fund in the market.

We agree that people go to Facebook to engage in mindless activity, not focus on clicking ads. This is a flaw in the business model. We have a business and don't want to advertise on Facebook because the users are not there to engage with most brands. They care about photos of baby pictures, wedding rings, and drinking at a bar.
Rackspace's churn is 0.9% on an annual basis, so that seems good to us. RAX is also growing 30% yoy, which is all organic. CRM is buying revenue growth now.

That is true. It seems like showing knowledge is also a better way for recruiters to get a true sense of someone's skill set. The world is being democratized with easy access to publishing, etc., so perhaps we continue to aggressively move in this direction.
As a portfolio manager, I would much rather see research that someone has written vs. a static resume saying how much they love the market and stocks. I want to see how they think and communicate.

Thanks for the insight from your business! We find Google to be better as well. Surely some companies have great success on $FB - like brands that are fashion / food / or more "fun". But this makes the market for ads a lot smaller than most people envisioned a few months ago.
