I am a Managing Partner, IT. I'm an investor from time-to-time in the technology sector. I made good calls on Worldcom, NetZero, Blackberry and others in my time. I know people in the technology world so I get alot of input from the end-users of technology products on how these technology products are playing from the battlefield itself so to speak. That's my investment niche - technology.
I was a fund manager of European Equities for 10 years at Newton Investment Management in London. I recently founded StockViews.com, a social network that connects investors with analysts and encourages debate around individual stocks. I still keep my hand in the market and contribute both to StockViews and to Seeking Alpha. I also dedicate a large amount of my time to educating investors through StockViews Campus and via a mentorship program for university students. In the fall I will be touring a number of US universities to deliver a series of seminars on investing. You can find out more about me via my blog: http://blog.stockviews.com
I worked for many years as an Engineering and Manufacturing Manager in my native Puerto Rico for a Fortune 500 company. I resigned to my job to open and operate two restaurants until things went from bad to worse with the economy and general safety on the island. I relocated to U.S.A. with my wife and daughters several years ago searching better opportunities for them. I have found a new passion in my life (after 50) in daily trading. After making a lot of research including paying subscriptions I have found Seeking Alpha as the absolutely best place to learn (for free) from all kind of traders and investors; sophisticated, amateurs, technicians and etc. My goal is to develop my skills on a daily basis in order of being able to someday publish my own articles.
Trained as a scientific programmer, I worked on war game software for NORAD (North American Air Defense) and statistical software for Abbott Labs. For most of my 40-year career developed and sold financial and accounting software.
Was principal or founder of 3 small (5-30 employees) software companies.
Wrote a book on public pensions and a play that won an award in Writer Digest Magazine's annual writers competition, a contest that draws over 10,000 entries a year.
