  • Dow Will Be Closer To 14000 By The End Of 2012 [View article]
The problems in Europe will not be solved within my life time, however markets will learn to "live with it" sooner or later.

  • Statoil Is Dirt Cheap Again [View article]
I'm a long term investor. Short term concerns only create buying opportunities in my opinion.

How about all the patents? One would need hundreds of different patents to build a good smart phone.

If only Apple could find someone to subsidize its TVs just like many carriers subsidize its phones. Then iTV would sell A LOT.

  • Will QE Dreams Turn To Nightmares? [View article]
I think the effects of QE are mostly psychological. Most investors think that QE will bring the stock prices up, therefore they will buy more shares if there is a QE. Then again, if everyone buys after a QE thinking QE will increase the prices, the prices will go up just because everyone is buying due to expectations.

  • McDonald's Is Not Expensive Anymore [View article]
It seems like there are a lot of buyers at $85. Today when the stock price briefly visited $85, it bounced back up almost immediately.

If one is planning to hold the stock for at least 3-4 years, any price below $90 is a good price to get in.

  • Why Nokia Isn't Eastman Kodak [View article]
I have a very diversified portfolio. I'm long more than 100 companies at the moment. Of course, not all companies get the same weight in my portfolio. Apple gets much more weight than Nokia, but neverthless, I own both stocks.

  • Cutting Costs Will Be A Major Factor In Nokia's Turnaround [View article]
People don't understand that you can't turnaround a global company with 130,000 employees overnight. It takes time, money and resources.

So yesterday when Dell posted bad results, almost every company in the industry lost 3-5% in market value. Does that mean most of those companies will rally tomorrow? We shall see.

  • Cutting Costs Will Be A Major Factor In Nokia's Turnaround [View article]
So if the company generates a revenue of $43 billion and spends $44 billion today, will it be better off by generating a revenue of $64 billion and spending $65 billion? It's not all about revenue, it's about having lower costs per revenue that matters.

  • I Don't Expect QE3, But I Expect LTRO3 Soon [View article]
I probably chose the wrong wording there. I shouldn't have used the word capitalist. What I meant was that US economy is mostly consumer driven, whereas many European countries' economies are government-spending driven. In US, consumer spending makes up 70% of the economy whereas in European nations government spending makes up nearly half of the economic activity.

  • Nokia Doesn't Need To 'Kill' Apple [View article]
"Microsoft is giving Nokia 250 large a year for a few years."

It's actually 250 million per quarter, 1 billion per year.
