Really? maybe I am not as knowledgeable as you. Please provide me with statistics and whether performance is due to a growth in earnings or the PE multiple.

If the Gov falls the muslim brotherhood will take over as you said. They are the only ones with the power and they have a lot of popular support.

El-Baradei has no support and anyway is a pawn of the Iranian regime and received millions from them. Who would not last a day in all likelihood.

If Mubarak survives which I am praying he does even though he is a dictator (unfortunately there is no alternative) he will have to appoint Omar Suleiman as successor, there is no way Gamal would be accepted anymore. He already fled the country.

No I read it an recent book titled Dow 36,000

BTW I do buy when blood is in the street like late 08 and early 09 but in countries that have investor rights that quote might not apply.

I did not get into economic issues really in the article I focused on people skewing data on stock market returns.

I am very in favor of helping the middle class. IMO the GOP pretends to be for the rich and middle class and are in it for themselves, and the Dems pretend to be for the middle class and the poor and are in it for themselves.

The way it works in this country is if your rich you can support yourself and if you are poor you get lots of freebies, the lower middle class gets screwed on both fronts. This is more than a decades old problem

New York Times Skewing Data for Partisanship would have been okay (although hardly surprising) but the economy part is not the point of my article, they should have left that out.

FYI for anyone who reads this, the title was changed and completely misses my point. The title should be something like Who is Better For the Stock Market: Republicans or Democrats?

Just because a stock is a penny or 120k does not mean it is risky or not risky. Klarman seems to find deeply undervalued stocks in all market caps.

  • A Near Perfect Pair: The Markets and Obama [View article]
This is how I see it the GOP pretend to be for the middle class and the rich, the Dems pretend to be for the middle class and poor. But in reality both parties are in it for their own personal gain and whoever gives them their contributions.

  • The House of Representatives votes to repeal Obama's healthcare reform law in a mostly symbolic move that is likely to be scuttled in the Senate. The more credible threat for now is in the courts, as 26 states have joined Florida's suit to bring down the law.  [View news story]

PE 10 year ratio is a far better determination of what the market will return than who is president.

Jesse Eisinger asks: “Is what 50 Cent did really that different from what happens all day long on CNBC when professional money managers take to the airwaves to praise the stocks of companies they already own?”  [View news story]
