I am confident in saying that it wasnt the timing. It was the company that I made a mistake on.
A great product does not equal a great company. The AeroGarden may be great, but the company made a mess of its expansion and capital plans. No wonder it announced it is trying to sell itself or find a strategic alternative.
The patents only give it a tiny edge, but nothing that can't be copied. There is also a reason why there are no competitors. They don't see any long term profit potential.

I agree with taxd2deth. The product is either a hit or miss. So far they are doing a really good job of getting out there and getting their brand known but it could end up like many other kitchen appliances.

That was the exact line thousands were saying when the stock was at $5 then at $3 then at $1 and now at 30c.
Even a startup should be smart about its growth rather than grow its inventory by such a crazy margin.
No matter how "hot" the product is, its a one product company with horrible management.

It's fairly obvious what you can deduce from the figures.
Also, growing revenue with decreasing cash is one of the major warnings and what shorts look for.
