    I am with you on the possibility of a systemic failure, which can certainly lead to horrors untold. What I don't see is how "a diversified portfolio of precious metal assets will make a fortune."

    A fortune of worthless dollars is a non-issue. I want an investment that will buy me more of the stuff I want tomorrow than I could buy with it today. Could you please explain how a precious metals portfolio is going to do that?

    Also, should this be a physical metals portfolio or a portfolio of paper assets? If physical, where should I store this metal safely? If paper, how do I guarantee that I can redeem it?
