Just one suggestion. Perhaps the shocking incompetence of the Spanish Socialist government should be included among the causes of the current crisis in Spain? After all, Spain is a model for the Obama administration in terms of ¨alternative energy¨ as well as nationalized health care.

Surely the author knows that Emilio Botin is ¨untouchable¨ in the Spanish legal system, due to his ¨generosity¨ in under the table financing of both main Spanish political parties. We have been through this before with the ¨primas únicas¨ scandal. No one who knows how Spain really works need fear any serious judicial action against ¨Don Emilio¨ or his family firm, Banco Santander. This investigation will be closed down by the powers that be of the corrupt Spanish Socialist government long before it become a significant threat to Banco Santander.
