I enjoy spending my free time researching stock ideas and publishing ideas when I have a solid investment thesis. I enjoy writing about technology stocks as well as obscure "unsexy" businesses that are often overlooked by the larger market. I employ a growth at a reasonable price approach to select the majority of stocks I own. I worked as a stock analyst for two years at a boutique firm where I learned the framework that I now use to invest in my personal account. I earned a dual degree in Business and Economics, which gave me a foundation I currently use to perform due diligence. I love hearing from readers and always try to answer questions or clarify when possible.

I am an investor relations consultant with 25+ years experience steering IR strategy and outreach for over 100 companies across a range of industries. We launched Catalyst Global in early 2012 to serve as a platform for innovating the IR role to better address the radically different dynamics and needs of public companies and investors.
Catalyst's mission is combining senior level experience and counsel with targeted outreach and efficient communications to deliver real change and share price results for "smidcap" companies in today's markets. We understand relationships and credibility take time, and we root all our work in integrity, candor and a focus on ROI.
I post on Seeking Alpha to expand the reach of client and other investment stories we like - and to understand the nature of these new channels of communication. Networking ideas and working with new media is integral to the IR function - plus it's fun.
CG Focus List is a separate service we use to highlight specific investment stories brought to us by some of the really smart investors we know. Profiled companies can be clients, ex-clients, non-clients or desired clients - but they are stories that offer very attractive investment potential and commensurate risk (there's no free ride in investing!)
My posts are NOT endorsed by the Companies on which I write - client or otherwise. We believe in truth and fair play at all times, and at all costs, and gravitate to those who share that view.

It should be advised that any article material is my own opinions and ideas. Investors should conduct their own due diligence when investing in equities and various trading strategies. I am currently studying security analysis and portfolio management in preparation for the CFA.
Thank you for visiting!

Tales From The Future (tftf). I picked my nickname because many advisors and investors claim they can predict the future of the (stock) markets and somehow pick the winners. I don't. I usually do not engage in short-term trading and myopic analysis (quarter by quarter, without looking at the big picture). I like to work with long-term scenarios with a focus on possible disruptions in the technology and energy sectors. I look into value and contrarian ideas as well as emerging technologies and growth stocks worldwide, both on the long and short side. I also like to discuss the influence of monetary policy on global stock markets. I am fiercely independent in my investment research and therefore use the image of a lone Ninja. This influenced my investment principles for the past 20+ years: Pick your targets with patience. Do your OWN diligence. Never follow the herd blindly: 'Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.' General Sector Focus: Technology/Internet, Value, Disruptors, Energy/Alt Energy, Entertainment Stocks and Monetary Policy/Geopolitics. Geographical Focus: USA, Western Europe, Japan. Sector 'Halo' Focus Stocks: AAPL, TSLA... PS: Not a native English speaker. I apologize in advance for any typos and grammatical errors.
Currently I am majoring in Economics in the Arts and Sciences School at Cornell University and I have recently incorporated my own research company 'Legion Investments & Advisory Company LLC'. Academically, I have pursued my financial interest both inside and outside the classroom. At Cornell I have engaged in a demanding curriculum in finance, economics and public policy to understand the broad forces that affect financial markets. Additionally, I have managed a significantly capitalized IRA retirement portfolio over the past five years. I am particularly interested in bottom-up fundamental equity analysis in the context of macro and industry trends. In pursuing this interest I have analyzed financial statements and conducted both individual firm and industry wide research using, among others, quarterly earnings calls, financial statements, and evaluating emerging macro and industry trends.
My professional experience includes a corporate advisory internship with Standard Chartered in Beijing. My responsibilities included valuation modeling and macro-economic trend analysis with the goal of developing strategies to unlock value in client companies. Additionally, I had the opportunity to intern with FH International Asset Management As a credit analyst. Here I learned to quickly assess a firm’s financial strength and growth potential. My responsibilities included identifying exposure risk to foreign financing, commodity price fluctuations, currency risk and political stability in order to create a complete picture of a firm’s financial credibility. Through my professional experience I have developed strong financial analytic skills and proficiency using financial software.
