Very well put. Right now following the grain market and weather, which is my strength. I am not calling for a hot summer like some others are due to the chances for El Nino to form by Fall and other factors with respect to Sea Ice, etc.

I think there is a natural gas company, building infrastructure to export LNG---that may be an interesting play. I know natural gas is oversold and production cuts are occurring and increased demand due to coal now being more expensive, but from a weather perspective only, this may cap rallies this summer and into the hurricane season with normal to below normal temps.

Not sure of the relationship as mostly I have been watching and trading natural gas futures and long puts for most of this winter on my forecast for record warmth. Though it is cold in the east today, a big warming trend is in store later month with record high temps in parts of the Midwest and East in about 7 days or so.
The low natural gas prices will put some companies out of business.
Some firms like Constellation Energy have seen their prices fall due to the lower natural gas prices, but there are some diamonds in the rough that offer high dividends. Most storage companies, for now, are being hurt by the lower prices and it could be years to some of them recover.

There must be some plays on companies that have lower natural gas prices--something to consider, though mostly what I do is in the commodity area, not picking stocks

I hear all of you and trust me, I'm as frustrated as most of you. Weather is just one factor in the natural gas market. And though we see some short term cold weather coming, the overall pattern will remain (unfortunately for some) very warm for the Midwest and East the middle-late part of January and perhaps into early February as well. Unfortunately, $2.50 natural gas is a real possibility first due to oversupply. I just hope a lot of people producing and developing natural gas do not go out of business due to these low prices and abundant supply--JIm
