Legg Mason: Quintessential Bear Market Value Play

I'm not sure of the relative merits of Legg, but they've been around a long time, with generally good results. I think some of the posters here don't really understand how long it takes to kill an asset management company - there's been some lousy ones in business for a long, long time. Legg's not one of them, notwithstanding their recent difficulties.
