  • ETF Update
Readers accustomed to following the regular weekend ETF update may want to check out the article on my blog.  oldprof.typepad.com/a_dash_of_insight/20...

The Seeking Alpha editors do a great job of keeping up with a massive flow of articles, but I was writing late after a weekend of travel.  I always post something on this topic over the weekend.

The featured sector is the regional banks. (NYSEARCA:KRE)

  • Choosing Whom to Follow

Some readers have asked how I choose whom to follow via the handy Seeking Alpha method.

For many authors one has the choice of following via their own website or following on Seeking Alpha.

Here is the problem.  If you follow via Seeking Alpha, you get a censored version of the author's work.  In my own experience, the editors reject work that they do not think is "actionable."  They also avoid things that directly engage other SA authors.

When I spend hours preparing an article, I obviously believe that it will help readers with their investments.  Sometimes it will not help tomorrow!  There is a reason that the Boy Scouts say to "Be Prepared."  Understanding the overall climate and issues may help one to react in a timely fashion -- no delay.

Here is the most recent example.  I have a piece raising a number of questions.  If you can answer these, you are prepared.  If you cannot, you need to do some homework.  Since the article is not on SA, you need to check it out here:

So the real question is whether readers want "seeking Alpha filtering" or whether they want to see what authors write.

Until SA changes the filtering rules, I follow many of my favorite authors via RSS and their own sites.
