  • The Zen Of LTBH Investing In Volatile Small Caps: Organovo, A Case In Point [View article]
OVNO reminds me of ISRG from 2004. ISRG slowly transformed itself in an entire platform in surgical care. They sell über expensive surgical assist robots and then of course profit from the entire food chain of their platform.
Organovo could be in a similar situation one day but with much bigger potential numbers. While 1 da Vinci robot could be sufficient for a surgery center- it would make sense for multiple 3d printers per center.

  • Liquidmetals Stock Is Likely To Melt [View article]
one of the reasons that Atakan Peker didn't know that liquidmetal was the ejector pin was that he left Liquidmetal in 2007, and company didn't even the get the AAPL license until 2010.

Part of the reason this isn't used more is that it cost a lot to make small batches of anything, so it was prohibitively expensive. Then in walks AAPL with bags of money and its amazing the sort of progress that can be made when any new tech is fully funded. That is what makes LQMT such a compelling story right now, is that it appears that AAPL has made them mass production ready, first testing with an insignificant part with that SIM tool, and now with both the recent iPhone rumor and other indications like LQMT's own pr's and their supply partner Materions(MTRN) says about liquidmetal in their cc last week) then we really could start seeing this in all walks of everyday life.
so risk is not in iPhone and ya lose a few cents, reward this shows up in all walks of life and we got ourselves part of a company with disruptive technology

  • Liquidmetals Stock Is Likely To Melt [View article]
this company has the ability to form a metal with the best properties of both plastics+metals, potentially revolutionary stuff, and if this tech is finally at a level to mass produce hundreds of millions parts for AAPL annually as is expected with its iPhone5 inclusion- then the upside potential is truly be stunning
ps: a little 14 employee company can do this by partnering up and down the the supply chain with Materion to supply the raw material, Engel to make the machines & molds, and Visser to actually make the chassis)

  • Liquidmetal: What's An Apple Contract Really Worth? [View article]
Ben- you just don't get the story at all here, should move on to something else that ya might have a better grasp of, like Build-a-bear... Anyways, LQMT has patnered up and down the supply chain, with Materion for raw material production, with Engel to make the injection molding machines and molds, and with Visser to actually produce the chassis. Apple sold 58mil units last qtr- if LQMT really does get in their products along the entire product line, they will be making hundreds of millions of parts for apple and could single handedly becoming AAPL's 2nd biggest parts manufacturer behind only Samsung. Not to mention the stunning endorsement of their technology as a whole from the worlds greatest tech company, which will overnight create enormous demand in high margin areas for liquidmetal products.

Why don't you post some links and facts and page #'s to your data instead of just making things up w/o a source!? You just confusing the newbies by throwing around bearish buzz words like warrants and proffereds etc. I mean the management has been accumulating millions and millions and millions of shares over the past 6months as this storyline has progressed (sec.gov) Such an obvious bullish indicator that your completely missing, as well as one of the coolest stories (an uber strong metal that can be injected molded like a plastic)
It's fine if ya want to miss the boat on this or any play- just stop w the making up #'s already...

Once again, I think you are simply pulling #'s out of thin air instead of from real sources. For instance pg 38 in LQMT's most recent 10k on sec.gov. Lists 160mil shares as their total outstanding shares several times. It also says that directors and inside owners own more then 50% of the common shares. To me those are unbelievably bullish stats for such amazing tech. Stunning that they still aren't even a 100mil $ company with this sort of tech + patents. IMO this company has the best shot to uplist from OTC to Nasdaq that I've seen in a penny stock in many many years..

They have roughly 180mil shares. That isn't a huge number by any means. LQMT had been similar to a biotech in that it had been almost purely in research mode for years until AAPL picked em up and straightened em out and paid off all their debts for them in 2010. They straightened em out enough to potentially produce hundreds of millions of the highest quality chassis from he world tech leader- This seems like the kind of stock story and technology that could get uplisted from OTC to Nasdaq

i think that part of the puzzle your missing- are the partnerships with Materion, Engel, and Visser. To produce the raw material, make the machines and molds, and then actually producing the chassis. so even though we don't know the terms of these partnerships, even a 5% royalty from each partner for using their tech and expertise could go a long way for such a small company

  • 7 Reasons To Ignore The Zynga IPO Hype [View article]
All your negative points seem like positives imo:

    1) Too Young- companies are growing parabolically faster then ever before with a global platform setup, co's mature so much faster then before this sorta of connectivity existed
2)Too friendly w/facebook- if anything Zynga is replacing Facebook as people communicate more through their games then simply messaging
    3) Pincus on road show video saying they can double that 3% of buyers
4)Zynga has 9 of the top 10 social games of all time and your finding a fault in that!?
    5) Even mentioning Pincus in the same breath with Steve Jobs is such a compliment- and then when you see his investing and company building track record * you could be very justified in comparing the two..
6)Overzealous!? Zynga has spent 500M dollars on making themselves the most high tech gaming company out there- have to think they've been creating more amazing products.. & didn't Steve Jobs say about every product they ever released 'this is the greatest product we've ever released'
    7) To compare ZNGA to Groupon and Zipcar is just a disgrace, first- maybe some further back ipo's like Google & Amazon would be a better place to start. As ZNGA says in its roadshow presentation, Shop and Search have their industry standards, and ZNGA is on the way to be the same for Play
