  • Is Netflix's Head In The Clouds?

    Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) is a company set on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Investors should still be concerned of its cloud reliability issues as they further consider Netflix future growth outlook. Netflix stock gained 104 percent first quarter 2013, with shares trading above $180. Netflix has sales revenues of $2.16 billion. Netflix is the best-performing stock in the S&P 500 this year. Its stock had jumped 5.6% last month after a Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) sharing feature was introduced. Facebook shares fell 2.7% because the Netflix integration could have caused "oversharing" worries. Netflix has radical management and policies. The company has had a past history of disappointing investors.

    The company has experienced cloud risk problems with AWS, having both minor disruptions and major outages. Netflix has been assertive with its consumer strategy, extending tools and code that are not good best practices for future cloud architectures. Last month, Netflix announced a $100,000 prize for those developers who can improve open source tools for its features on cloud computing...

  • Intel's Digital Signage Solutions Scale

    Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) market capitalization is $106.12 billion. Intel uses its Digital Signage solutions and innovations to rapidly scale producing high returns. Intel's EBITDA margin is 41.54 percent (the operating margin is 27.44 percent and the net profit margin 20.63 percent). Twelve trailing months earnings per share reached a value of $2.13. Last fiscal year, the company paid $0.87 in the form of dividends to shareholders. The dividend yield amounts to 4.19 percent. Intel has paid a cash dividend to shareholders every year since 1964. Dividend payouts from the S&P 500 have been good. Dividend-paying stocks have seen healthy share-price gains. Intel stock pays an estimate 4.24% dividend; the Fund was able to acquire shares at around 4.6 times EBITDA and 10 times earnings...

  • Oracle Unveils Sparc T5 Servers

    Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) closed Thursday's trading session at $32.33. Investors question growth in Oracle's new high speed servers that were just unveiled last Tuesday to expand its hardware business. Oracle recently announced the refresh of Sparc Servers, the world's fastest microprocessor in the world. In the past year, the stock has hit a 52-week low of $25.33 and 52-week high of $36.43. Technical indicators for the stock are Bearish. S&P gives Oracle a neutral 3 STARS (out of 5) hold rating. Total revenues fell by 1% to $9 billion during the quarter. SPARC T5 midrange servers are based on the SPARC T5, its largest suite of hardware products since the 2010 acquisition of Sun Microsystems. John Fowler, executive vice president, Systems, Oracle stated "The new SPARC T5 and M5 systems leapfrog the competition with up to 10x the performance of the previous generation, offering an unbeatable value for midrange and high-end enterprise computing." Oracle announced the complete refresh of two existing server lines with the new servers, SPARC T5 and M5 running Oracle Solaris...
