JR Carter is a freelancer writing about personal investing, wealth management and the world of modern agriculture in a down to earth and easily digestible manner. His viewpoints are often acquired from years of personal experience and erratic, extensive and expensive private city college education. Based in the friendly confines of Southwestern Iowa, he has composed daily and weekly articles and newsletters covering energy markets and individual stocks, options and futures, from both fundamental and technical analysis viewpoints.

A proud ...More member of Generation X, he has marched willingly into self-employment, freelancing and "consulting" as his baby boomer parents, and their fellow boomers, dominate the job market leaving many GenXers, like himself, attempting to strike claims and build fortunes self-sufficiently.

JR Carter holds an undergraduate degree in finance and business administration from Grand View University located in Des Moines, Iowa and is working toward certification in professional accounting. He is forever on a quest of being "all-knowing."

Politically he does not lean in any one direction, but rather leans ON people to simply accomplish SOMETHING in politics. A child of the 1980's Farm Crisis and an adult business owner at the forefront of the late 2000's Great Recession, as a home builder and roofing contractor, he can be shown to disagree with the function, actions and outcomes of the political process from time to time.

In his daily life and spare time, he can often be found shouting suggestions and sarcastic remarks at financial television shows, enjoying the outdoors by bicycling in the summer, skiing in the winter and putting food on the table for his growing family in between. He is actively engaged in his family farming operation raising corn, soybeans, cattle and garden produce for his family and local farmer's markets.
