  • The Worst Case Scenario (Someone Has to Say It) [View article]
As someone who has known the author for over ten years I can assure you that he wasn't "preaching the 'new economics' and the suspension of the business cycle" back when it was fashionable. The US is, and has been for some time, in robust decline. A military take over is not outside the realm of possibility.

  • Why BAC Will Beat: Understanding a New Bull Market Is Not Underway [View article]
    From Monday morning's news:

"CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bank of America Corp. managed to avoid a loss in the first quarter, surpassing analysts' expectations and providing further evidence the banking sector might be improving."

    JS was right on.

  • Let's Keep Big Banks from Ruining America Forever [View article]
Excellent article, very convincing and well thought-out. In mentioning the "massive misinformation campaigns" propagated by the big banks, I think you are touching on what has been made possible by our fundamentally dysfunctional corporate media. It will be hard to convince most people that real change is needed as long as the information they get is so effectively filtered and distorted by the government and big business.

  • Do Low Gas Prices Signal Big Bucks on the Horizon for GPS Manufacturers?  [View article]
HardToLove has raised a number of interesting points and I am pleased to see they have been thinking about this topic in detail. The idea of using vehicle inspection records, while generally reasonable misses some important points relating to the VMT. In addition to raw mileage data, governments want to be able to discriminate between highway and non-highway use and time of day. Only GPS can enable this. Also as Don-n-ABQ has mentioned not all states have mandatory inspections in which mileage data would be collected. Furthermore records may not be collected at uniform intervals, state-to-state.
