A day trader by heart turned long term investor, I enjoy developing fundamental views on long term trends. My area of focus tends to be commodity related, as I like the volatility that the sector presents. I have been trading for 5 years, and just recently switched to a more fundamental value approach geared toward capturing large moves in mega trends.
Atticvs (a pseudonym), has been an active stock market investor since 1980. For the past 10 years he has been managing portfolios full-time for himself as well as for family and a small group of friends. His investment returns have been substantially higher than the overall market averages. He is a strong advocate of fundamental analysis and discounted valuations allied to a clear understanding of current and future economic/business trends and stock market drivers. During a period of 25 years prior to managing investments full-time, he held senior finance, funding and mergers & acquisitions positions with NYSE, Nasdaq and private companies with operations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, as well as in the USA and spent extensive time working and/or living in each of these regions.
Wed a wonderful woman 53 years ago. We shared in the upbringing of our 8 daughters and continue to support them as they raise our 19, (and counting), grandchildren. Retired since 1993. Had 13 different "jobs" while working for the same employer for 31 years. Over-educated and opinionated, and prefer doing things my way.
I am an investor who actively manages a portfolio of accounts, taxable and deferred, for our family. I retired from active work in 2001 and find the rewards of investing, financially and intellectually, as rewarding as ALMOST anything else I've done.
My primary investment focus on a daily basis is in equity growth E&P oil and gas companies. I am very long HK, KOG, EXXI, GEOI, ETP, KMP, KMR, MHR, WMB, WPX (WPX through WMB). I don't do tricks, end runs, etc. I use options carefully. I have a high level of disregard for pomposity and self-importance in investment writers. I like those who are numerate, careful and clear in their writing.
I believe in concentration as a tool with a close eye on circumstances on whether to maintain a direction. I don't believe in panicking when Europe is down and Asia is up or a sudden rush on a given commodity. I have degrees in Economics, Business and History.
Just a regular guy who's worked on the land side of the E&P sector since 2007. I invest purely for myself and always seek out well-run companies with strong fundamentals and a vision for long term success.

I have been trading and investing in stocks, stock options, and ETFs for over 10 years. I look for opportunities in companies that recently came public, as well as companies with compelling products or momentum in the market. Combining both fundamental and technical analysis with sound risk management tactics contribute to my investing style.
