Jim Mahar teaches finance at St. Bonaventure University in Western New York. His blog, FinanceProfessorblog.Blogspot.com (http://FinanceProfessorblog.Blogspot.com), tries to bring an academic perspective to current financial issues while also taking current issues in the financial world and showing how they can fit into a finance curriculum. Jim’s specialty is corporate finance, but he has published academic articles on derivatives, governance (auditing), investments, and derivatives. He has finance degrees from St. Bonaventure (undergrad), the University of Rochester’s Simon School (MBA), and Pennsylvania State’s Smeal College (PhD). Jim also is a tri-athlete, a vegetarian, and the founder and leader of BonaResponds (http://BonaResponds.org), a volunteer organization that responds to disasters.
