The article submitting system removed the blank space after what PM replied to me about currency hedging, but the point is that PM did not respond to my question : )

Nice article SG, I'm working on one for the Morris quarter that has similar themes but, er, slightly different conclusions for the strictly-overseas firm..

Hi JT, in general at a glance I would say this:

One thing that looks a little unusual is the number of shares floated, 160 million shares, on these little plays a lot of times there is less than 50 million shares and when a buyer comes in you get a big lift. Ibio is up almost 30% the last 2 days in large part because it has only 44 million shares floated.

LQMT has the same number of shares floated as ARNA almost and Arena is almost worth $2 billion. Not to say that the company is bad or the stock is bad, but those are some things that jump out to me. Also, it is not on a major exchange, that is not necessarily bad either but a company like this best serves it shareholders by being listed so they might get some good funding instead of diluting. Not that I know that these guys dilute, but they are losing money.

However these guys have an Apple contract and an intriguing technology, that changes almost everything. I'd have to listen to management, they would have to convince me that they are on a path to be listed. If they make up an excuse about why they don't want to go through the scrutiny of the vetting process to be listed on a major exchange then I would say stay away.

Do you have any insight about that? Certainly an interesting one:

Right Silver Serfer, these stocks with less than 100 million shares floated can move big quick.

I'm not out of ACI, the puts expired and I sold some more. I would give you a "thanks for reading" but will instead say "thanks for the comment." Here is some strategy from the original article, now cleverly tweaked to avoid a Euro sell-off:

"No Fluff. Every pick must have big ability to pop.
Dividends. We'll look for names that pay us to wait.
Options. We'll get income, leverage, and a hedge by buying puts and calls, and writing cash-secured puts.
Diversification. Acceptable risk means spread risk.
Long and Short. We'll be hedged against a correction with short positions.
Cash. We'll be cash-heavy to secure puts, guard against a broad market sell off, and buy on corrections.
OTC, Pink, and undiscovered. We'll be looking at major exchange-traded stocks as well as stocks that are not listed on major exchanges and have gone under the radar."

  • Don't Get Paid In Euros - Sell Philip Morris [View article]
Here is a problem with the raise the price forever thing:

    http://bit.ly/M9Apwf;highlight=

That's PM saying that now more than 10% of European cig sales are on the black market, taxes and price hikes have created a giant underground industry, lack of funds for law enforcement and a possible sales tax hike should only fuel it.
