    John Petersen, I do agree with the premise of your article. It should be obvious to Detroit's engineers that TODAY advanced lead acid batteries make much more sense than Lithium-ion batteries for all types of EVs. I got my degree in Physics 40 years ago to get into fusion power development. Instead I have always worked in IT. However, Lithium is very important for Nuclear fusion to produce power, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... . Nuclear Fission is still the way we produce nuclear power. Nuclear Fusion is still being developed.

    For both Nuclear Power and EV Battery development using large amounts of Lithium is obviously not very practical in the near future. It is unfortunate that the CLOWNS, bean counters and politicians, that run the Detroit Automakers know so little about science.
