JP Morgan recommended BAC stock today, basically agreeing wth all of the reason I stated, and although share price has gone from $9.90 when I wrote this article to $10.53 today, I continue to believe it is very undervalued.

I agree that the sell off is waaaaay overdone, and took the opportunity to add more shares on Wed, and will add more if it dips below $30. Gold, copper, oil or gas, what it comes down to is digging a big hole in the groung and finding valuable stuff, and FCX is knows how to do that. Yes, they paid a premium for MMR and PXP, but since management is intimately familiar with both companies, why would they pay such a premium unless they KNOW the assets they are getting are going to be hugely profitable? With shares currently yielding close to 4%, you're getting paid to wait until the market realizes the true value here. Excellent read, thank you.

Excellent article. I'm long BRK-B since before the split, and agree that it is still a tremendous value for long term investors at current levels. Thank you!
4 Speculative Stocks For The Aggressive Investor In 2013 [View article]
Heavy short interest is a fact of life with speculative biotech and pharma stocks. Hedge funds take large short positions in these stocks for the simple fact that most developmental drugs do not receive FDA approval. They employ various tactics to manipulate these stocks, and ride them both long and short and profit as the stocks moves in both directions. It's comes with the territory in the biotech sector - look at stocks like ARNA, VVUS, and DNDN, all of which were heavily manipulated. I agree with you on Lymphoseek, and believe it will be approved. IMO, the best way to play this stock right now if to be long at current levels and hold on moving towards the PDUFA date, and just ignore all the short term noise.

I agree 100%. Arch getting it's house in order and should be in good position to benefit from improved market conditions going forward. This is a good spec play, but only if you're prepared to hold for a while, maybe quite a while. Thanks you, Ravensberg.

I think it may be a little early, but the price should begin to slowly and steadily move up the closer we get to 4-30, which makes now the time to buy. Good luck!

Michael, I avoid foreign banks, esoecially European banks, with the one exception being SAN. Other than that, I'm sticking with American and Canadian banks like BAC, JPM, CM and TD. As for homebuilders, they've all rallied sharply this yeat, and I do not consider any of them to be undervalued. However, I am working on an article about a few of my favorite speculative stocks for 2013, which will include my favorite homebulder, SPF. Thanks!
It goes without saying that buy and hold should really be called buy and monitor - never ignore the story behind your stocks, and never take anything for granted with any company. When choosing "buy and hold" dividend stocks, I try to look for companies that are undervalued and offer the potential for captial gain along with the dividend income. By buying low, watching them closely and selling as they reach fair value, you can reduce risk and enjoy the dividend income. Good article, thanks!
Why American Capital Is One Of My Favorite Investments [View article]
Great article Phillip, and I agree with you on ACAS, it's very undervalued and a great bargain at this price. And as long as they keep paying down debt and buying back stock, I'm ok with them not paying a dividend. Their stated stock repurchase and dividend policy should serve as a model for all public companies to follow. I agree that they will most likely return to RIC status once the tax credits are used up, and we'll see a dividend again at that point. Until then, as long as it stays this far below NAV, add to your position on any weakness. Great job getting in at the $2 level too BTW. Thanks!
Thanks for the entertaining article Brian. I agree with you about REITS and BDCs, and am long AGNC, ARR and MTGE, along with ACAS, PSEC and TICC, which I would suggest you take a look at. Best of luck in deciding which way to go investing wise, and thanks again.

I believe you're correct OmegaSD. I read it that way too - the stock price is, or was $6.77, which is signficantly below current book value. I like ARR's monthly dividend as a complement to my AGNC and MTGE, and I agree that ARR is a good pick for 2013, especially at current levels.
