$BP is dirt cheap and yielding 5.7%, so I'll be a buyer of $BP tomorrow. I like $XOM and $HFC as well.
10/20/14
Wish I would have been holding $TSO today.
12/14/14
Still nibbling at both $BP and $XOM, also liking midsream NG MLP's OKS and NGLS, which have been wrongly beaten up in the oil panic.

$BP, $DE and $HFC all undervalued, keeping my eye on all three for better entry points over the next few days.

$MKL currently at 1.24 x book value, will add to my position at 1.20 x book. $MKL is one of the best long term buys in the market today.
10/22/14
Write puts at your $MKL 1.2 P/BV target? I just closed successfully. Downsize is no minis so $60K commitment. http://seekingalpha.com/p/1supt

Looking closely at going long on $MKL. Seems to be a really well built mini Berkshire $BRK-A, $BRK-B. Also looking at $BAM & $LMCA.
Started initial $MKL position 4-29-14 at $615.54 per share. Tremendous company, tremendous value.
5/26/14
If you look at the $MKL equity holdings, they actually own a bunch of $BAM. Largest position in the $MKL portfolio....$BRK

$F March sales up 3.4% yoy, strong showing in Fusion, F Series and Lincoln. Long $F, expecting to see $20 by end of 2014. Go $F!

$BRK-B 4Q net income up 10%, book value up 18.2%, and plenty of cash available for elephant - should see a move towards new highs this week

Adding to $PSEC under $11.10, recent pullback and 12% yield make this a great buying opportunity. Like $MAIN and $FSC in the BDC space too.
3/2/14
$PSEC and $FSC are solid BDC's. Added $FULL recently as well, a BDC with some marijuana exposure (Warrants in $CANN)

Looking to add energy stocks while they're down Recently started small positions in $BP and $HFC, looking at $CVX, $XOM, $RIG, and $EPB.

Added to me $PSEC long position and opened a new long position in $BP. Looking to add in the energy sector while it's down.
2/13/14
Frustrated that PSEC keeps going up. Now up 6 straight days and 5.5% premium to NAV.
Add $SDRL while you are at it!!

$BAC and $F, my two largest holdings, on track for $20 in 2014.
1/28/14
And the latter will still be undervalued at that price.

$F CEO Mulally officially staying thru 2014 and $F raises dividend from .10 to .125, a 25% increase. A good week for $F, stay long.

$F Dec sales up 1.7%, Chrysler Dec sales up 5.7%, $GM Dec sales DOWN 6.3%. Where's 1980XLS this morning?
1/3/14
Four wheel drives sell like hot cakes when the weather is bad. Autos will be very good year as the average age of autos is at record levels
1/3/14
John McCoy
$F and $GM DEC sales lighter than expected? $F down .36% while $GM tumbles down almost 3%. $GM = Government Motors.
Lol, short $F or not, you're a good sport 1980XLS. I hope to make a bundle of $f long term, I hope you make a bundle on $GM too. :)

Liking small banks $AMNB, $OVBC, $SBSI and $WASH. Cheap valuations and strong dividends, theres money to be made in small banks.
10/17/13
John McCoy
Liking $XOM and $HFC in the energy space, refiners very undervalued. Buying $HFC here.
10/18/13
may join you on $HFC, or $CLMT, not decided yet!
10/17/13

$BAC and $F continue to be two of the most compelling long term opportunities in the market today. If you're not in these stocks, get long.
Agreed, this is the time to be in for $BAC and $F

Nice drops on two of my watch list stocks, $ARII and $UNP. Might be time to start a small position in each of those stocks.
10/8/13

$BRK-B $DE $PSEC $XOM $FCX and $HFC all looking cheap on my watch list, am adding $PSEC at these levels.
10/8/13
$EFC is an add anywhere below book value IMO management is some of the best
$PSEC looks like a good deal right now. Now seem like a really good time to get in and collect those dividends.
9/26/13
John McCoy
Started new postion in $PSEC today, going to keep buying under $12. Strong portfilio and an 11% monthly dividend - very bullish on BDCs.
I bought back into $PSEC myself on Wednesday. I agree it is a gem of a stock.
Welcome to $PSEC, been long years. Great stock!

Started new position in $HFC today, strong balance sheet, nice yield, very undervalued, like $MPC as well.
7/24/13

$NSC down 2.6% today, will be adding shares under $75. Thank you $NSC for the 4% dividend increase!
7/24/13
John McCoy
$F crushed earnings today, am long an will continue to hold, looking for mid twenties and future dividend increases.
7/23/13
John McCoy
$NSC earnings disappointed today, look for a nice buying opportunity over the next day or so. Div increased 4% from .50 to .52 per qtr.

Taking a closer look at $RAD as a deep value play. Looking cheap compared to $CVS and $WBA, but is the turnaround for real?

Working on new articles on my two favorite small cap banks - $WASH and $SBSI. Two great shareholder friendly banks!

Monday's opening should be interesting. I'm looking to add to $BAC, $F, and $NSC on any further Fed fueled weakness.

Working on new article highlighting my favorite 4 picks for 2013-2014 - $BAC, $NSC, $F and $DE. Should be ready in the next 2-3 days. Thanx!

Last one for the day - BDCs for yield. Liking BKCC and PSEC at these levels, also $ACAS as a long term value pick.
6/18/13
John McCoy
Recent pullback in $DE makes it another solid buy. Food & agriculture is another long term growth sector, $DE is a good play on both.
