Gold to Natural Gas Ratio: What It Could Potentially Mean [View article]
"We are in no way stating that Gold is not a good investment, what we are simply stating is that right now Natural Gas could make for a better investment for those seeking a higher rate of return."
This is a great statement...very well thought through and very convincing. Thank you for your keen insight.
Wall Street's most accurate forecasters - this year, anyway - are calling for an 11% rally in the S&P 500 next year. JPMorgan Chase's Thomas Lee expects the index to go to 1300, and Goldman Sachs' (GS) David Kostin expects 1,250, on low rates and profit growth of more than 26%. [View news story]
Bring it on, this I would love to see. That is quite a bit.
My friend, good point. If I was holding for a longer period of time I wouldn't play this the way I did. I was looking for a quick cut back and I got my 9% gain and I was out.
Cramer's Stop Trading! What's Moving the Market? (12/1/09) [View article]
"One thing is clear: the consumer is much healthier than Wall Street expected, and Cramer thinks retail will continue to be strong throughout the holiday season."
I am amazed at how quickly the DUBAI thing passed. But I agree with retail anyway. Now I don't know what I would consider strong, but shopping will help the retailers this season let's see what the winter holds though.
PowerShares Dollar Bullish Fund Hits Record Lows [View article]
"Yet investors need to pay attention here. If the PowerShares U.S. Dollar Bullish Fund (UUP) were to hold above its 50-day MA for a week or two, that would make things a bit tough for growth/momentum investing. Note: UUP is currently below its 50-day trendline."
I like this quote. Unfortunately I think we are going to continue down. Saw a small break in the momentum. But don't think we will break again any time soon.
5 Reasons to Expect a Near-Term Selloff [View article]
Ya know, this is a very good article. It is hard to refute the logic & research they have put into this.
This is my favorite line in the article: "As we recently noted in the Expectation Ratio, it’s likely that the gap between real earnings and expectations has peaked." Real earnings will now be showing since the last two quarters have been earnings based upon cut backs and not growth.
Gold and Silver ETFs on Fire: Get Ready for a Reversal [View article]
"Now jump over to the daily chart and notice that gold has rallied longer than the previous move in early October. It looks overbought and ready for a pullback. Pullbacks on strong rallies like this tend to be hard and fast as stop orders get triggered sending prices tumbling down on heavy volume."
I like this philosophy...this is nothing but smart thinking we all need to take into account. Sometimes we forget those computers can trigger a move in the market with their pre-set sales settings.
Omega Health Care Investors: One Healthy REIT [View article]
Where they are today is a main play. They have touched this high 10 time si the last three years without breaking through totally. If they break through u r a genius!
Sector Selector: Weakness in Containers and Packaging [View article]
Lisa, thank you for the head's up on this sector. This is one of the reasons I like reading your information & sometimes that of others. I cannot be everywhere but I rely on things like this to help me do my research. I will look further in this sector! Thanks!
Thursday Outlook: Commodities, Global Markets [View article]
"Creating a liquidity bubble is the easy short-term political choice. It will have a large exit fee down the road. It’s appalling to me anyway."
David I am behind u on this one. All these prices are artificial & the markets will eventually have to face that. What ever happened to long term responsible planning?
Cott: Investor Interest Starting to Return [View article]
My hats off to COT an impressive display of management. Well, small cap are always more volital and obviously if they lost more they could gain more. Not to hard to figure out.
Biotech Sector Pullback: Good Time to Buy at a Discount [View article]
"Rather than complain about the games, I like taking the strategy of playing along with them; sell into the spike when the big boys run it and then try to buy low when the big boys short - I call it 'picking up the bread crumbs that the big boys leave behind.' I think that we, as small investors, have an advantage over the big boys when they play their games because we can move in and out of a stock a lot quicker than they can."
This is an interesting strategy. But don't u have to know the "big boys" are the ones manipulating the stock?
Consumer Confidence Dips Due to Jobs - And the Price of Oil? [View article]
"A sustained move above $3.00, or an oil price of above $85, would in our minds put a brake on the economic recovery and bring another outcry over commodity speculation by hedge funds."
I couldn't agree more with this statement. Consumer confidence will not last long even though in the short term it may recover. We are still on an upward trend & not finished yet. But we will see how influential oil will be in the quarter to come.
Grantham on the Markets: '860 Is Fair Value for S&P' [View article]
Wow, he hit it right on the head when he talks about the earnings the first quarter next year. That is when we won't be hiding behind reduced spending but hit the reality of the slow pace we are in. I am in full agreement. Correction here we come.
