The World Economy Is Hanging By A Thread [View article]
"Thus, the “if you go, I go, we all go” theme comes into play more than ever before." Good article, very informative and I agree whole-heartedly with your assessment of each countries attachment to the world economy. The only way to counter this as a trader is to design option plans that allows one to make money in either bullish or bearish markets!
Gold Should Continue Secular Bull Trend [View article]
"Since 2000, gold has been in a secular bull market while stocks have been in a secular bear market. There is no reason to conclude that these trends are over."
J.D. I agree with yo whole heatedly, it really looks pretty strong doesn't it.
"Four of our 26 large cap buy recommendations, Imperial Oil (IMO), Marathon Oil (MRO), Petrobras (PBR) and ExxonMobil (XOM) currently trade below their respective 200-day averages. That could be a sign of a downtrend beginning or a price opportunity before an uptrend resumes."
I beleive we will have a short turn down, but not that long in these stocks we should see them grow again by fall.
Best Buy: Recent Pullback Provides Outstanding Opportunity [View article]
"I see no reason that these shares can’t command at least a 14 multiple again at some point over the next two years. That leads me to a 12 – 15 month target price of about $45 - $50. Is that an attainable goal?"
I like this statement! Good research! And after the drop they showed the last few years, and the strength they are showing now, I am in full agreement on the opportunity they can provide as an investment. Thank you for your fine research.
Thank you for the very informative article. Very good to help us with our research. I am specially interested in HPQ. They have been bouncing off the resistance level from back in the end of 2007. The weekly chart has them bouncing off this level the last four weeks. Just waiting for this stock to break through and we are gone!
Gold to Natural Gas Ratio: What It Could Potentially Mean [View article]
"We are in no way stating that Gold is not a good investment, what we are simply stating is that right now Natural Gas could make for a better investment for those seeking a higher rate of return."
This is a great statement...very well thought through and very convincing. Thank you for your keen insight.
Consumer Confidence Dips Due to Jobs - And the Price of Oil? [View article]
"A sustained move above $3.00, or an oil price of above $85, would in our minds put a brake on the economic recovery and bring another outcry over commodity speculation by hedge funds."
I couldn't agree more with this statement. Consumer confidence will not last long even though in the short term it may recover. We are still on an upward trend & not finished yet. But we will see how influential oil will be in the quarter to come.
I have read that the dollar will continue to fall another 15% in 2010, but with this attempt at manipulating the market so the big hedge funds can have themselves look good on paper by the end of the year who know s what's gonna happen next year. I guess follow the bulls as long as we can even though they appear technically manipulated.
Let the regulators go after overpaid bank executives, Barry Ritholtz says, but not Andrew Hall - one of Citigroup's (C) most profitable traders ever. Earning lots of money isn't inherently bad - except when it's paid for non-performance. [View news story]
Absolutely! "Earning lots of money isn't inherently bad - except when it's paid for non-performance." I am absolutely supportive of huge salaries as long as it is making the company profitable so that people have jobs. Performance based pay is okay with me!
"I wanted to mention this as I hear from many traders who are getting hit hard because they feel the need to stay "invested" for fear of missing something and the only thing you are missing in this market by not having a cash position is a good night’s sleep. Having cash allows us to pick our spots, make money and get back out to cash. We’re not day-traders but we sure as hell take our profits if we hit our goals in a day!"
I am such a fan, I beleive you have it so right! Why do people stay in the market & continue to lose money? I am a fan of yours, I personally like to stay in a money market fund until I am ready to make a trade then I am back into cash. You are very wise to give this advice!
Yeah I like where AT&T is going and carriers overall. This is just one of those industries where we cannot be without our cell phones and we are going to be using data more and more on a mobile basis and these are the companies that profit from our use good investment.
