We expect choppy action and so remain in the &quot;Yellow Flag&quot; mode.  When and if the decline is confirmed, we will add two more inverse positions to each portfolio with the goal of profiting from any extended decline.</span><br><br><span>The markets remain overextended and treacherous in light volume expected this week. </span></span></div><div> </div><div><strong><span> The View from 35,000 Feet</span></strong></div><div> </div><div><span>The current rally faces 4 major hazards:</span></div><div> </div><div><span>1. Overvaluations</span></div><div><span>2. The impending onset of H1N1 &quot;swine&quot; flu</span></div><div><span>3. Seasonal weakness</span></div><div><span>4. Estimates of overvaluation range as high as the mid-20% range to &quot;just a tad,&quot; depending upon whom ou're reading, but well respected economist David Rosenberg reports that the index is currently priced for 4% GDP growth instead of the widely forecast 1-2.5% growth ahead.  Fair price based on projected GDP growth would be 850 on the S&amp;P 500, or more than 17% below current levels.</span></div><div> </div><div><strong><span>2. </span></strong><span>The swine flu has been declared a pandemic and estimates are that as much as 50% of the U.S. population could catch the disease this winter with as many as 90,000 deaths which would overwhelm the health care system and certainly put a pall on consumer spending, commerce and transportation.  Apparently smaller amounts of the vaccine will be available than forecast and so this appears to be a growing danger.</span></div><div> </div><div><strong><span>3.</span></strong><span> Seasonality is now working against the market, with September being traditionally the worst month for stocks and with October harboring a penchanat for stock market &quot;crashes.&quot;  Short interest is up in August and investor sentiment is at its highest level since late 2007 which was the market peak just before the onset of the bear market. </span></div>]]>
