ABOUT
John Petersen is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of ePower Engine Systems, Inc., a Kentucky-based enterprise that has developed, built and demonstrated an engine-dominant diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain for long-haul heavy trucks that promises fuel savings of 25 to 35 percent depending on terrain and payload weight.

COMPANY
Fefer Petersen & Co. Fefer Petersen & Co is a boutique law firm that focuses on small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and offers counsel in matters relating to private and public offerings, securities law compliance, and M&A transactions. We focus on SMEs for three main reasons.
First, and most importantly, the needs of ...More
SMEs are different from the needs of large companies. Where large companies usually have budgeting and financing horizons that are measured in years, SMEs frequently have budgeting and financing horizons that are measured in months, or even weeks. We understand that SMEs are different, and we have tailored our practice to accomodate the time constraints and short deadlines that are unavoidable in a practice that focuses on the SME market.
Second, we take a expansive view of the lawyer's role. We prefer to get involved at an early stage so that we can offer our best advice on a variety of issues that are not necessarily legal in nature. We've been through the process numerous times and can usually help our clients avoid the pitfalls that often damage SMEs. We've learned from our mistakes and the mistakes of others. We don't know it all, but we don't make the same mistake twice.
Finally, we prefer to work with entrepreneurs and visionaries who have a wonderful idea, but don't know how to turn their idea into a business. We accept engagements based solely on a prospective client’s needs and our ability to effectively serve those needs. We take a deep personal interest in the business of each client and work diligently to become a member of that client's team. We believe our unique focus sets our firm apart from the bulk of our competitors.
